Hard to argue with any of this.... "What the government should not fund, produce, or broadcast are news or news-interview programs. The issue is not just political bias. The issue is that the heavy hand of government should not control any broadcast news within the U.S. Let the president, Cabinet secretaries, senators, and representatives hold press conferences. Let the White House, Pentagon, or State Department hold briefings. That’s more than enough to get their message out. They don’t need to fund broadcast networks. That would be true even if their journalists and presentations were fair-minded. They aren’t, and that’s one more reason to end this public funding. But it is not the main reason. The main reason is that it is simply wrong for the government, with its deep pockets and coercive power, to control any broadcast network. Not in a free country."

This is the headline: "I'm not there to make it Trump TV and MAGA TV. That's not what this is about. That's not what Voice of America is." Rather than something from these statements: "We're talking to the world through Voice of America. And I want to actually put more coverage out there, more product out there, if you will, more broadcasting, and make sure that they're doing really quality, top-notch broadcasting and focus on great journalism, asking questions, and making sure that the journalists know that they're independent journalists."  "To put out a fair and accurate assessment. Regardless of approval, this signals a major shift in media access—one that could redefine political journalism in the digital age. The Trump administration is expanding White House press access to include independent journalists, podcasters, and content creators. This move aims to bring in voices outside traditional corporate media and reshape how news is covered from the briefing room. This is such exciting news! "The initiative will support the Oklahoma Eagle newspaper, launch a new newsroom, and create over 20 journalism jobs. It will also provide funding to strengthen four existing Tulsa news outlets: The Frontier, KOSU, La Semana, and Focus: Black Oklahoma."
