Why am I late to the party? I always arrive late to the party. Be it: ▸ Purpose ▸ Schooling ▸ Commitment ▸ Responsibility ▸ Accountability / But once I arrive, I make sure I'll stay until everyone leaves. / Because, I'm not used to being the first 'guest'. / Rather, I'm used to being the last 'support'. People see your late arrival. But they never see your → preparation & → participation behind the scenes! ↳ So arriving late is always better than visiting earlier! ↳ Because not all play the guest role, some play the 'backbone' role! ↳ Backbone isn't the first thing you ever notice in a person. ↳ But, without it, whatever you admire in them won't exist! ↳ There's more to it than what just the eyes can see 🔥 ---- Follow Mohamed for Entrepreneurial Skills Click 🔔 for daily updates

As a user of Duolingo, this episode is one of the most fascinating and relatable ones, both as a user and as a PM trying to improve his skills. What really struck me (and very much aligned with) is the emphasis on testing cheap and quick. Iterate based on real feedback, and not assumed feedback. Stop getting stuck in perfection. Get the product out and learn fast (and give this episode a listen)!

Stage Fright / Stage fear One would have heard this often as a concern by colleagues and friends. Here is a little nudge for reflection. is stage fright the real issue or is it a symptom of something deeper. My reflection of all my stage time experiences including in office meetings and comedy shows is that the fright is more a function of my confidence in the content rather than the number of people in the audience. To me public speaking is (1 to 1)*x If I am out of depths in my content, no matter how small or big the audience is, I tend to gloss over superficially for two reasons.. (a) not sure of my responses if asked a question, so skim fast (b) I empathise with the audience as to why they would invest time in something that may not be insightful for them. Yes, public speaking of all forms needs a bit of nuance to become better, but stage fright in my view is an allopathic diagnosis of something more deep. My journey in Toastmasters over the last four and a half years has helped me validate this hypothesis time and again as well as finetune by public speaking skills. Eager to hear your views. In this pic, I am presenting my evaluation of a speech at a District Finals of Evaluation Contest to an audience of over 400 people. No, I didn't win a place at the podium but the sheer experience was exhilarating. #stagefear #stagefright #toastmasters #publicspeaking

As a new employee of SSEN Distribution, i have found this approach so refreshing. Specifically: - Focus being on output, not presence. - An environment ACTUALLY promoting trust and inclusion, not just saying it. - Enabling choice to work where we are most productive. - Prioritising wellbeing and a healthy work/life balance. 👏🏻
Our flexible first approach allows Cath, a Lead Development Project Manager at SSE, to spend more time with her family. 👨👩👧👦 You can learn more about SSE's Flexible First policy as well as hear from more of the team sharing their stories via the link in the comments below 🔗 ⬇️
