Sharing this at the risk of upsetting AFSL providers including my own. An official petition has been launched to increase the AFSL ASIC levy and decrease the individual adviser levy. More on this can be found in the comments as there was a good article on Professional Planner about this. What would be even better would be charging the AFSL fee based on size as well, for example a large dealer group is only paying $1,500, yet someone with one or two advisers is paying the same amount. Grimmer than ever. 'We can’t expect current systems and structures to deliver the radical change we need, and we can’t imagine that the public sector can do it all alone.' The Christie Report clearly stated that there needed to be radical reform to systems to ensure more positive outcomes. Third sector organisations are at the forefront of service delivery and understand the challenges that community members face and feel. Third sector organisations need to be trusted to support the experts (people with lived experience) to play a vital role in enabling positive change and be viewed as valued and equal partners in enabling transformative change. Building positive and trusting relationships between public sector and third sector leaders is essential in making this happen. #partnership #cld #personcentred #traumainformed

Not opposed to the idea - but what else have you got? Change for the sake of change is often not a good idea because it lacks a clear purpose and can lead to unintended consequences. Here are several reasons why: Disruption Without Benefit: Making changes without a strategic reason can disrupt workflows, processes, and routines that are already functioning well. This can lead to decreased productivity and morale among employees who may feel that the changes are unnecessary and burdensome. Wasted Resources: Implementing changes requires time, money, and effort. If the changes don't provide a tangible benefit or improve the situation, these resources are essentially wasted. It's important to ensure that any change has a clear goal and potential for positive impact. Resistance to Future Changes: When people experience frequent, unnecessary changes, they can become resistant to future changes, even those that are necessary and beneficial. This resistance can create a culture of skepticism and reluctance to embrace innovation. Loss of Focus: Constantly changing direction can cause a loss of focus on long-term goals and objectives. It can lead to a lack of continuity and make it difficult to achieve strategic milestones. Unintended Consequences: Changes made without thorough analysis and planning can have unforeseen negative effects. For instance, altering one part of a system without understanding its impact on other parts can create new problems. Lack of Stability: Stability is important for building a strong foundation in any organization or project. Frequent changes can create a sense of instability and uncertainty, which can be detrimental to long-term success.

Is Thames Water heading towards nationalisation as financial troubles deepen❓ Tim Whittaker, Research Director at EDHEC Infra & Private Assets , was interviewed last Friday on BBC Radio 5 Live’s flagship business program, "Wake Up to Money". During the segment, which ran from 30:25 to 36:02, Tim discussed the financial troubles of Thames Water, which recently faced a downgrade of its Class A debt rating to sub-investment grade. He explained that the company has accumulated too much debt, and with rising interest rates, it is now struggling to refinance and repay. Thames Water, which serves 16 million people, is facing a potential cash shortage by December. Despite the financial crisis, Whittaker reassures that water services will continue uninterrupted, but government intervention might be necessary.
