In moments of crisis, it is very easy to find someone to blame or ask the self-victimization question "why me?" which leads to a downward spiral of helplessness. Instead of blaming yourself or others for what has happened, asking yourself the right questions can make all the difference in how the crisis affects you in the heat of the moment and in the future. Bernard Avle, in his submission, referenced Ecclesiastes 7:14, stating that one needs to consider in the time of crisis. Here are some 5 questions help to consider or change my situation and also helps me learn during crisis ————— 1) What can I do right now to improve the situation? This question helps me take actionable steps to address the immediate challenges. It usually works like magic, bringing all the other questions to mind. 2) Who can I reach out to for support or guidance? This question helps me find the right person I need to help me get through the situation. 3) What resources are available to help me through this? This question helps me identify tools, information, or community resources that can aid me in resolving the crisis. 4)How have I overcome challenges in the past, and what strategies can I apply now? This question helps me reflect on past experiences where I've successfully navigated difficult situations and apply those lessons to the current crisis. 5) What can I do differently next time to prevent or better handle similar situations? This question helps me see the situation as a learning opportunity to develop resilience and improve my preparedness for future challenges. ________ The next time you find yourself in a state of crisis, instead of asking why me, use these prompts. How do you manage crisis, let me know in the comments. #crisis #management #thriving #change #overcomingcrisis #learning #opportunity
Don’t waste a crisis. As you step out this week, may you make the best out of every challenging situation that presents itself before you. #HappyNewWeek (An excerpt from our session with Bernard Avle)

Break Fake Rules! 💪 Loving this video series out of Stupski Foundation on all the "rules" driving philanthropy that need to be questioned, flipped or composted. Thanks Stupski CEO Glen Galaich and Pia Infante for naming and sharing. -- We need to give tidal waves not teaspoons (of funding) -- The 5% payout = a teaspoon structure. -- The flaws of strategic philanthropy—too donor-centric and focuses on donors to determine strategies and pathways for action. -- The silo’fication of philanthropy: We work only on “this X issue” to the exclusion of all variables that make up the interconnected crises we face and the polycrisis world we live in -- Need to right size and re-imagine the role donor preferences play (to be in deeper accountability to the communities we serve)

Today's parents and carers face a unique challenge. The first generation of children growing up digitally native and how best to keep them safe online, and to protect themselves from potential harm while learning about and enjoying all that the digitally connected world has to offer. Too often in the workplace we only train our staff on what we believe will bring the organisation direct value. It's all about the ROI. What ROI do you think you'll get from having staff who know how to keep the most vulnerable people in their lives safer, and know that their own organisation took the time to equip them to do it?
