🎉🎂 Our very own birthday fairy has been at it again! 🎂🎉 A huge Happy Birthday to our recruitment consultant and marketing maestro, Karl Montgomery! This year marks his first birthday as a dad, so as you can imagine, he’s far too tired for a photo 😂 – but that didn’t stop him from spoiling the team with an amazing spread. 🎁🍰 Wishing you an incredible day, Karl, from all of us at Recruit Mint! Here’s to another year of brilliance (and hopefully some sleep too)! 🎉🎈🎊 #HappyBirthday #TeamRecruitMint #DadLife

Building awareness through career fairs, community meetings, and media outreach is vital for promoting opportunities and addressing critical issues in the behavioral health field. 🏫At HealthFORCE 2023, The Health Collaborative's inclusion of the RBHWC allowed coalition members to engage over 700 high school students about careers in Behavioral Health. 🧠 RBHWC co-chair, Meredith Poynter, emphasized the coalition's work during a TCN Roundtable on Mental Health, discussing equity and access to care. 🎥 In a WCPO Channel 9 News report, RBHWC members Ashley Glass and Meredith Poynter shed light on the critical shortage of Black therapists in Cincinnati, stressing the importance of local initiatives to address this gap. These are a few examples of how the Regional Behavioral Workforce Coalition is working to build awareness for behavioral health. 🙌🏾 #RBHWC #buildbehavioralhealth #behavioralhealth #careerpaths #advocacy #coalition #workforce #ohio #mentalHealth #NewsworthyWork #BuildingAwareness #CareerFairs #CommunityMeetings #Media

We are ending the year full of gratitude for inclusive employers like Northwestern Medicine. Recently, we teamed up with Corporate Coalition of Chicago and Chicagoland Healthcare Workforce Collaborative to host a re-entry simulation for more than 80 members of Northwestern Medicine's talent acquisition team at Prentice Women's Hospital. As part of the presentation, we introduced the idea of fair chance hiring and helped the team put themselves in the shoes of a justice-impacted job seeker navigating the challenges of securing employment after a conviction or incarceration. We are always grateful for opportunities to change the conversation around any false perceptions of justice-impacted job seekers and to see the "aha!" moments when people discover the realities of fair chance hiring. Because in 2025, the reality is employers can't afford to automatically exclude job seekers who have been impacted by the justice system at some point in their lives. If they do, employers, teams, and entire communities will miss out on top, essential talent. It's not too late to join our Fair Chance Hiring Cohort in 2025 to learn how your company can expand its talent strategy to be an even more inclusive employer. Contact Liana Bran at lbran@carachicago.org for more information on how to get started.

Access to opportunity and information can be a barrier so we are excited to launch a community page dedicated to how we find what we need both locally and globally. On May 4th, 2024, at the stroke of midnight, alongside a special group of people we are launching a Second Chance Month Website for Wilmington NC that's Fair. Find it at www.secondchancemonth.com As many of you know being fair in your hiring practices align with our full person framework in #DoRecruit 👉🏾I know you're thinking to yourself …Second chance month is in April. It is but we have to change the narrative that tells us the only month we can go louder is in April. We should all be tired of being silent about systemic issues that face individuals with lived experience and limit opportunities for quality employment and economic mobility. We have to do better. Our mission with this community page is to consolidate and capture all available resources - both local gems in ILM and globally accessible tools - into one convenient hub. From our journey, one thing has become crystal clear: Visibility is invaluable. When we make opportunities visible, they become attainable. Bookmark this community page, set your reminders, and stay tuned. Let's make every opportunity count with making #SecondChanceMonth EVERY month #LocalGlobal #OpportunityHub #StayTuned #ValueofVisibility #May4thLaunch

As Careers Professionals, it's our job to focus on someone else. We're there to support them. It's what we love doing and what makes our work so beneficial. But what if, as well as backing our clients when we're running sessions with them, we also took that approach to our own careers, and our own sector? If we truly started backing ourselves, what amazing things might happen? There are a few ways to do that. 🏆 Shout about the great work you and others in the sector do, by nominating yourself or someone else for an award at #CareersFest2024. Don't be bashful - shout about your own great work, you deserve it! Or help advocacy and shout about the work of others. But do it quickly as the deadline is this Friday (13th) at 12 noon. Vote via the website shown in the image. 💰 And join Jamie Pywell and Jessica Pieri RCDP on Thursday 12th as they discuss what we REALLY should be expecting in our salaries. #careersincareers #cdpcelebration #careersawards #salaryguarantee

🎄✨ I recently volunteered at my kids’ school Christmas fair, running the Polaroid camera stand! 📸 There’s something so special about creating a tangible memory on the spot… watching photos come to life and seeing people’s faces light up! But wow—by the end of the day, I was spent! After packing up, I came home and had to lie down in a dark room for 25 minutes to recover. 😅 It’s funny how I can be on Zoom with clients all day long without skipping a beat, but this kind of in-person experience was on a whole other level of exhaustion. 😂 What’s the difference? In-person experiences are more intense. They demand more energy but also build deeper connections. This is why it’s so important to balance technology and face-to-face interaction in business. In recruitment, where relationships are everything, this balance is critical. The takeaway? While tech can make life easier and more efficient, there’s no substitute for the human touch—whether it’s in a client meeting, a candidate interview, or at a community event. But it’s also okay to acknowledge the toll it can take and to manage your energy accordingly. Have you found yourself struggling to strike the balance between digital and in-person interaction in your business? #RecruitmentLife #LeadershipLessons #HumanConnection #RecruitmentCoach #WorkLifeBalance

Thank you to Intersection Co. for hosting a career circuit with The Knowledge House Their commitment to urban development resonates deeply with me. Learning from Datt Patel Nicole Robinson-Etienne Jeffrey S. and Chris Grosso. Each offering invaluable insights into their company and my entrepreneurial endeavors. Datt: if you have a resume summary, update the summary for the job posting. Jeff: Even C Suite gets anxious, and it’s ok because you’re interviewing the employer as well during an interview. Nicole: Interact on LinkedIn, post, comment, mention others, get the network effect going, and get to 500 connections. Chris: It’s easier to sell a painkiller than a vitamin. I'm incorporating these lessons into both my personal brand and company marketing strategies. I found them immensely beneficial, and I hope they inspire you too!
🌟 A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, fellows, and staff who attended our Annual Career Circuit with Intersection Co.! Your dedication and enthusiasm made this event a huge success. 😇 Honoring D-Day: A Day of Remembrance and Reflection. Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a pivotal moment in World War II when Allied forces launched the invasion of Normandy, France. We pay tribute to the incredible courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women who fought for freedom. Their legacy inspires us. Their determination and selflessness remind us to cherish the opportunities we have today. While challenges arise in our daily lives, let's remember the far greater struggles faced by those on D-Day. Instead of dwelling on frustrations, consider these options: ➕ Seek a positive change: If you're unhappy at work or in your life, explore solutions. Can you talk to someone, maybe your manager or find new opportunities within the company, can you find a way build positivity into others ? 💡 Try to be a better version of yourself every day. 🥇 Focus on making a difference: Look for ways to improve your workplace culture. 🔍 Can you enhance communication, boost morale, or contribute to a positive team spirit? 📈 Embrace the privilege of choice: Many today have the freedom to pursue different career paths. Let's honour D-Day by striving for a better future, both at work and in our communities. #DDay #NeverForget #ThankYou
