These decisions are generally made by people living in controlled neighbourhoods. However, areas like mine that are historically affordable for new homeowners will disappear to rental units. What these changes actually mean is that the house next to me (that is for sale) can be bought, torn down and rebuilt into a 4-unit townhouse that is no longer required to provide parking spaces. There will be no place to park on my street, no sun in my yard, and potentially 16 neighbours living 5 feet from me. I am all for more housing however, adding incentives for developers to utilize the empty lots in the city's dying areas for apartment buildings would be far more beneficial to the city, the renters and the economy while leaving older neighbourhoods to answer the ever-growing problem of unaffordable home ownership.
I am excited to share more work the team has been doing to accommodate growth in Regina! I know, two posts in one week - we’ve been busy 😀

#valuesbasedhr #lookingforward #leadingchange I highly recommend Sharon Jutila because I have worked side by side with her for the past 9 years. Her practical approach combining values/culture and law/compliance is amazing! She is super awesome!
I'm thrilled to be able to announce a new chapter of my life starting this fall.

While celebrating Father’s Day this past weekend, the question popped into my mind of ‘What type of legacy do I want to leave for my son?’ I think it is an important question for all of us parents to reflect on. However, in our busy lives, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Here is the legacy I want my son to know about his dad as it pertains to my career: 1) I stayed true to my values & priorities I have 5 main pillars for my values that I call the F5s: Faith, Family, Fitness, Finances, and Friends. These pillars shape everything I do, from my career decisions to personal growth. 2) No matter the role or work, I gave it my all This is a gentle reminder for me of the work I want to provide: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Colossians 3:23-24 3) I choose Courage over Comfort All the magic happens outside of our comfort zone. Whether that be starting a new project at work, starting a new campaign, or acquiring another multifamily building all the magic happens outside the comfort zone. Stay tuned as I share insights on: - Identifying a vision and sticking to it - Balancing a fulfilling career with a busy personal life - Becoming an asset in your company and acquiring cash flow-producing assets like real estate Whether you are a parent or not, do yourself a favor and think about the legacy you want to leave.

Being part of a team is a rewarding experience that combines individual skills with collective strength. Collaborative opportunities allow each member to contribute their unique talents, creating a dynamic where diverse perspectives drive innovation. Success in a team is not just about personal achievement but the shared journey toward a common goal. By supporting one another and embracing teamwork, each contributor plays a vital role in the overall success of the group. Together, we accomplish more than any one individual could on their own. I’m grateful to be a part of a wonderful team and organization. We learn, grow, develop and strive to be the best we can be together. As we look toward the future, the opportunities for growth and success are limitless. Being part of a team allows us to harness collective strengths and build on shared experiences, ensuring that each milestone is a stepping stone toward even greater achievements. With a mindset focused on continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation, we not only contribute to the present but also lay the foundation for sustained success. Together, we are shaping a future that promises personal and professional growth, driving us to reach new heights as a team and I’m here for it. Grateful for each day at this firm. More than anyone will ever know. Pictured: Mike Ison - Regional Office Administrator for the Indiana offices

The work landscape is changing fast. Some suggest that by 2030 the concept of a 9 to 5 will be extinct - perhaps it’s a bit aggressive but regardless of how many years it’s going to take - the way we work and how we work is changing. One of my beliefs is that portfolio careers are going to play a critical role within this new structure, whether you are a generalist, specialist, multihyphante or innovator the way you approach building your career will change. Personally, I find this outlook refreshing. Being confined by a straight line career ladder never felt natural to me. What are you thoughts on this view?
The future of work is here and portfolio careers are a key part of the landscape. Even Reid Hoffman agrees with me…

I think the biggest key to success is surrounding yourself with people who inspire you. Last night I was in a room full of people that inspire me every day to be better not only for myself, but for my clients. This past year with New York Life has developed my professionalism in ways I never imagined, and I can’t wait to see what my team and I accomplish in 2024. We’re just getting started ✨🏆 #newyorklife #2024kickoff #financialservices
