For the leader getting pulled in many directions, “managing up,” which is proactively developing a positive and productive relationship with one’s manager, is a MUST 😊 When approaching your manager with a problem, issue or concern, it’s best to request your need or want versus complaining about a situation. Prior to your conversation, think about your request and bring it to your manager. This way the conversation jumps into solutions, which works toward solving the problem, instead of focusing on the negative aspects of the situation by complaining. As a leader yourself, isn’t it more refreshing when your team comes to you with a request and a brainstorming session ensues shortly afterwards? Remember your manager is leading a team too. Give them what you would want. In this same light, it’s important to maintain a “how can we” attitude when you are approaching your manager or when one of your direct reports approaches you with a request. It’s more fun to work together on solutions when everyone “comes to the table” with a “how can we” mentality. How are you “managing up”? ⭐️ Leaders are so often expected to “figure it all out” on their own. Instead, if you want leadership support, DM me “𝘞𝘖𝘙𝘒𝘚𝘏𝘖𝘗” and I will send you the link to my free workshop 😊 #leadership #peopleleader #peopleleading #peopleleaders #leadershipandmanagement #leadershipdevelopment #managingpeople #directreports #leadershipdevelopment #executiveleadership #leadershipskills #buildingrelationships #theleadershipacademy #leadershipcourse #leadershipcoach #theleadershipacademybystephaniegnau leading people I front line leaders I aspiring leaders I first time leaders I tenured leaders I building relationships I work culture I team culture I communication is key I managing up I building a relationship with your manager

Situational Leadership Style: Selling, Participating, Telling, and Delegating’ Not everyone has the same level of intelligence, maturity, compliance, or motivation. To be a great leader, one must recognize that different people are motivated by different things and situations around them. Situational Leadership is a combination of guidance and assistance that can be interpreted into four leadership styles: Telling (Directing) is for individuals in need of direction and motivation. The leader clarifies the assignment, establishes milestones, monitors, provides feedback, and rewards performance. Sales (Coaching) is for workers who wish to acquire new skills. This employee is motivated but may be lacking in skills. The leader develops the worker's confidence and aptitude through mentoring. Participating (Supporting) leadership is for employees who have the ability to work independently but lack the confidence to do so. These employees still require supervision and assistance. Delegating Leadership is reserved for employees with high self-confidence and skill. They are aware of what must be done. And they are capable of working independently. At TelioEV our associates assume greater responsibilities and our team leader continues to monitor performance from a distance. #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #womeninleadership #leadershipcoach #leadershiptraining #leadershipskills #leadershipcoaching #youthleadership #thoughtleadership #leadershipmatters #leadershipgoals #femaleleadership #leadershipconference #leadershiptips #consciousleadership #studentleadership

#Leadership #Management #HandsOnManagement #Teamwork #Support. The Value of a Hands-On Manager A hands-on manager actively engages with their team, providing guidance and support, rather than just overseeing from a distance. By participating in day to day tasks, they build trust, improve communication, solve problems efficiently, and empower their team members. Why does this matter? •Builds Trust: When leaders actively participate, they earn respect and build stronger relationships with their team. •Improves Communication: Direct involvement helps bridge gaps, ensuring that everyone is aligned and on the same page. •Enhances Problem-Solving: By getting into the trenches, managers are often able to identify and resolve issues more quickly. •Empowers Teams: It encourages team members to take ownership and feel supported in their roles. Being hands-on doesn’t mean micromanaging—it’s about striking a balance between guiding your team and giving them the autonomy to succeed.

Great managers! Where you at??? 💪🏽🙌🏻🤝 Do you agree with this?? 🤔 Good management facilitates work flow, while bad management obstructs it. If your management activities are making it harder for the people you manage to do the job they were hired to do, then you need to revise your management activities. Effective managers understand that their role is to support their team's success, not hinder it. Their management style should empower employees to perform their duties efficiently. This means providing clear goals, fostering a collaborative environment, and offering resources and guidance. In contrast, bad management creates roadblocks that make it difficult for employees to be productive. Micromanaging, unclear expectations, and a lack of communication are all hallmarks of a bad manager. These behaviors can lead to frustration, decreased morale, and ultimately, a decline in performance. #leadership #leaders #managers #management #teams #teamwork
