Juneteenth (June 19, 1865) Because of how our federal government rolled out Juneteenth, the holiday has become rather divisive. However, it should not be. It should be a celebration of the freedom that so many Americans received and the tremendous cost of that freedom, paid by all those who fought, served, and died to restore the Union. Some say that the Civil War was about states’ rights. I agree. However, the issue at hand was whether or not states had the right to choose slavery. Slavery was at the heart of the matter. By 1862, President Abraham Lincoln concluded that the restoration of the Union required the end of slavery, so he penned the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth should unite Americans, not divide them. Slavery currently exists among all races through the evils of human trafficking. Americans should unite against such evil rather than be divided about an evil that ended in 1865. We should celebrate freedom from such brutal slavery while also considering those who are still in bondage. It is imperative that leaders unite our society, workplaces, and local communities and stand against those who would use this holiday to divide us. To develop such leaders, Red Letter Leadership provides daily devotions that offer lessons on leadership, team development, and personal growth from the Gospel accounts. It is also launching an online community exclusively for men to equip them and develop their leadership skills to lead transformation within the Body of Christ, and the fallen world of our society, through their bold practice of Christ-centered leadership. https://lnkd.in/gdacNaQq In the King’s Service, Jordan Founder, Red Letter Leadership Ben Hunter Eric Albright #Juneteenth #leadership

## The Bravery That Comes From Humility: A Reflection on the Tuskegee Airmen **In a world that too often confuses bluster with bravery,** the story of the Tuskegee Airmen stands as a testament to a different kind of heroism. These extraordinary men, forced to endure a despicable "experiment" even as they served their nation with honor, teach us a profound lesson about true leadership and the quiet strength that comes from humility. **C.S. Lewis, a keen observer of human nature, once wrote, "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." ( paraphrased)** The Tuskegee Airmen, denied the basic respect they deserved, channeled their frustration not into self-pity or anger, but into an unwavering focus on their mission. **Micah 6:8** instructs us to "do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." The Airmen embodied this perfectly. They did what was right by defending their country, showed mercy by rising above prejudice, and walked humbly by prioritizing their duty over their egos. **Their focus wasn't on themselves or the injustices they faced, but on the men they flew with and the mission they were entrusted with.** In their quiet dignity and unwavering dedication, they redefined what it means to serve. **Leadership is not about rank or title,** it's about inspiring others to rise above and fulfill a greater purpose. The Tuskegee Airmen, through their courage and humility, demonstrated the very essence of leadership. They serve as a beacon for all of us, reminding us that true strength lies not in self-promotion, but in service and selflessness. **#TuskegeeAirmen #Humility #Leadership #CSLewis**

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, which marks a pivotal moment in American history. Juneteenth symbolizes freedom and the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, Union Army general Gordon Granger proclaimed freedom for slaves in Texas nearly 2 ½ years after the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. At Pacolet, we continue to educate ourselves, support each other, and work towards a future where diversity, equity, and inclusion are valued and upheld. Tulsi Gabbard a trailblazing Hindu-American leader, has consistently broken barriers throughout her journey. From her beginnings in American Samoa to her historic tenure as the first Hindu and Samoan-American member of Congress, she has exemplified dedication and resilience. A U.S. Army veteran with deployments to the Middle East, Tulsi holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve and is celebrated for her distinguished service. Having followed Tulsi Gabbard’s journey over the past decade, her leadership consistently inspires me with its blend of strength, compassion, and unwavering integrity. Her political career includes eight years representing Hawaii in Congress, where she championed veterans' rights, national security, and sustainable policies. Tulsi’s ability to connect with people from all walks of life has earned her popularity across political parties. Respected by conservatives, moderates, and progressives alike, she brings a unique perspective to American leadership. Recently joining the Republican Party, her appointment as the Director of National Intelligence under President-elect Donald Trump, a testament to her growing influence in shaping America's future. Despite some misconceptions, it is crucial to note that Tulsi Gabbard is not a cult follower. She is a deeply spiritual individual who embraces her Hindu faith while remaining committed to her values of service, peace, and justice. As a vocal advocate for peace and justice, Tulsi continues to inspire as a leader who bridges divides and leads with conviction. Her leadership also holds potential for stronger bilateral ties between the United States and India, offering opportunities for collaboration in security, trade, and shared democratic values. Could she be a future U.S. presidential contender? Time will tell, but her journey so far has been nothing short of remarkable. #TulsiGabbard #HinduAmerican #VeteranLeadership #Trailblazer #WomenInLeadership #AmericanPolitics #FutureLeader #UnityInDiversity #BipartisanSupport #GlobalPerspective #NotACultFollower #StrengthAndCompassion

Social Media Managers who manage brand pages - remember that wording matters so much when it comes to creating a Memorial Day social post. We want to avoid 'Happy Memorial Day' verbiage, as for those who have lost dear loved ones during a time of active duty, a day like Memorial Day is about remembering the memory of their loved one who they cherish, it's not simply an extra day off Always think of the deeper meaning with a holiday when you create images and verbiage for a brand post. It really DOES matter. It really makes a difference. If you aren't sure what to post on a holiday with significant deeper meaning, it's always acceptable to opt not to post.
Today we remember the brave Americans who gave their lives while serving. 🏢 Our U.S. offices are closed today in observance of Memorial Day. #NeverForget

Juneteenth is an important day in American history, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were now free. This announcement came over two years after President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, which had officially abolished slavery in the confederate states. As we mark this significant milestone, it is essential to remember that the fight for freedom and justice for all continues. Juneteenth serves as a reminder that progress can be slow and uneven and that we must remain vigilant in our efforts to combat systemic racism and discrimination. At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, my team is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and respected and advocating for ongoing change. We recognize that diversity and inclusion are essential to our success and a culture of belonging allows our team to be seen, heard, and valued. As we celebrate Juneteenth, let us continue our commitment to promoting equality and justice for all. Together, we can build a better future for ourselves and future generations 💙 #Juneteenth #Freedom #Justice #Diversity #Inclusion #Belonging
