Frank, Teresa, and Casey are spreading some serious paw-sitive vibes this holiday season by giving back to organizations that are all about rescuing dogs in need! 🐾 Here’s how they’re making a difference in today's #RedSageGivesBack spotlight: 🐶 Frank is helping Russell Rescue TN , dedicated to finding loving homes for dogs in need. 🐶 Teresa is supporting Dixie Girl Dog Rescue, a life-saving group focused on rescuing pups from neglect and abandonment. She became close to their mission because her family acts as a foster family for shelter dogs, and she has supported them every step of the way. 🐶 Casey has chosen Texas Chihuahua Rescue , making sure these small but mighty dogs get the second chances they deserve. Having 4 chihuahuas in his life, Casey feels close to the cause. We are so proud to be a part of their mission to give these furry friends more than just a meal—they’re giving them a chance at a loving home. ✨ #RedSageGivesBack #DogRescue #HolidayGiving

the KILLING continues. I'm sorry, I normally post /comment/repost mainly work related issues. it's not very professional to let your emotions take over, but I'm so upset today with what goes on inside these "Shelters" What gives these "shelters" the right to kill (or as the prefer to say euthanize)? and really why are they really allowed to call themselves shelters? they kill just to make room to get another animal in, and then they will kill that one too Despicable p s.: if you have Californians in your network pls pls share

For years, the experience of homelessness in DC has been even more challenging for those with pets. Too many have had to face the heartbreaking choice between finding shelter and staying with their beloved animals—often choosing to endure dangerous conditions rather than leave their animals behind. The launch of DC’s first pet-friendly shelter is long overdue. This initiative recognizes that pets are family and ensures that those experiencing homelessness no longer have to choose between safety and their companions. It’s a critical step toward making the DC experience of homelessness more humane, inclusive, and compassionate. There’s still work to be done, but this is real progress for people and pets alike. #PetFriendlyShelters #HousingFirst #HousingForALL

DV survivors often face the heartbreaking dilemma of leaving beloved pets behind when seeking safety. Many shelters don't accept animals, complicating the decision to escape abuse. Communities are stepping up to provide solutions, recognizing the importance of keeping both humans and pets safe. Beartha currently is working on a program named Stay Pawsome. Stay Pawsome is a program that fosters animals in shelters. Some people may not know this but some animal shelters are at full capacity and sometimes families have to call months ahead in order to make an appointment. Due to that some people go to extreme measures and may leave their pet at the location, the pet becomes a stray, or the people and the individual lives in the street. Pets are family and shouldn’t be left behind. Between 5% to 10% of homeless people in the United States own pets (mainly dogs and/or cats). Of the 241,117 dogs and cats that entered North Carolina shelters, 170,753 found positive placements, while 47,652 were killed (76% were cats), for a save rate of 70.82%. 25.58% of North Carolina shelters are no-kill (a state is considered to be no-kill when every brick-and-mortar shelter serving and/or located within the state has a save rate of 90% or higher). Beartha wants to help fill in that gap and provide a chance for pets and their parents to find peace and stability. If you are able to donate beartha.org or know someone that would be interested in sponsoring and/or has a rental property that would be great for this program we would greatly appreciate that help. #community #animalshelters #nc #cary #raleigh #durham #wakecounty #durhamcounty

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗽 - 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and we want to shout it from the rooftops, so please share this post with others!📣🐾 This day is all about raising awareness for the incredible animals waiting in shelters for their forever families. By adopting instead of shopping for a pet, you're not just giving a deserving furry friend a second chance - you're literally saving a life. The reality is that in 2023, according to Shelter Animals Count (https://bit.ly/3wdLrCe), approximately 6.5 𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑠 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠, and only around half get adopted. The others? Well, we don't like to think about it. 💔 But YOU can change those heartbreaking odds! Adopting from your local shelter, humane society, or rescue group is one of the most impactful things you can do to combat pet overpopulation and homelessness. We've written & hosted some amazing articles & webinar about saving lives, overpopulation and kitten basics - check out the links below!
