A great example from HearstLab’s own Katie Bailey of why mission-driven work matters and how it can be a powerful force for good! 👇👇👇
Doing “mission driven” work is so much more than just feeling somewhat good about how you spend your time... Throughout my teenage & college years, I was a hardcore (#1 nationwide) American Cancer Society fundraiser and Relay for Life campus leader. We raised millions and brought together thousands in the fight against cancer. Yesterday, I received this serendipitous text exchange from one of those peers, over 10 years later. This is it. This is why. Whether you’re doing the fundraising for the research or the actual research… Funding the solution or building it… Keep going. Keep talking about it. The world is such a better place when we all do our part to move the needle forward.

Most patients say their care team did not ask them about financial burden or help them address it—and they want that to change. What’s your go-to sales signal? For our CRO, James Roth, it’s all about executive changes. 💼 New executives bring fresh goals and initiatives, providing the perfect opportunity to step in with a solution that helps them succeed. But it doesn’t stop there. As James points out, an executive move creates a ripple effect of opportunities — former executives move on, new ones step in, and roles shift across companies. With #ZoomInfoCopilot, you can spot these signals in real time and take immediate action. Now, it’s your turn: What’s your favorite sales signal? Join the challenge using #ZISignals! For every video shared, we're donating $25 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I would like to personally thank everyone who took the time to vote for me this weekend, where 1 vote counted as 2. And I was able to help raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation with Fab Over 40 contest. The voting continues. You can still cast a free vote for me and move me into the next round of competitions. You can vote everyday for free if you would like. 😊 I was moved to the next round as being acknowledged as #1 in my group. Now I move to the next round of voting that consists of numerous groups. https://lnkd.in/gvBw45pC 💙 Why this matters to me - if you are seeing this post for the first time. This year, since May, my father passed away from pancreatic cancer and two dear friends of ours from other cancers. And I have a family member who has been battling with prostate cancer for years. It matters alot to help continue the research for the wide range of cancers that affect so many people. 💚 I chose to enter this contest because I believe passionately in their mission. If I were to win this competition - I would use the $40,000 in the following way: ✳ 1st a donation to the organization I'm representing. ✅ 2nd - I would be able to have the investment I need to launch our on line course in 2025 called "How to create your Mindful Career...Intentionally." ❇ 3rd - I want to set up a foundation/scholarship program with this course to beable to help as many people as I can with their career transitions. 💛 I believe in possibilites! And I believe we are all interconnected and that when we help others with a pure intention, we all benefit. Making the world better, one vote at at time. One converstion at at time. One moment at a time. Thanking you in advance for your support. With gratitude, Carol Ann PS If you are inspired to share my post with your contacts on LinkedIn - it would mean alot. Thank you. #amindfulcareer #careerswithpurpose #wentworthexecutiverecruiting #executivemindfulcoach #mentalwellbeing #sanfranciscobayarea

As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, it's a time to reflect on the courage of those impacted by this disease. This month offers a chance to honor survivors, remember those we've lost, and show our support for the countless individuals and families affected. Awareness goes beyond wearing pink—it’s about educating ourselves, promoting early detection, and backing vital research efforts. Every gesture, whether it’s sharing knowledge, offering support, or donating, can make a difference. Let’s use this time to inspire action and spread hope, knowing that together, we can make an impact. #BreastCancerAwareness #TogetherWeFight #HopeAndSupport #StrongerTogether

An area I'm very familiar with is Patient Assistance...and Susan G. Komen is EXCELLENT at it: With Susan G. Komen's Financial Assistance Program - anyone currently in breast cancer treatments OR living with MBC that is 300% FPL can qualify for a $400 check from Komen to help with everyday life expenses. Last year, Komen was able to give =$11 million to assist 19,256 individuals currently battling breast cancer with our Financial Assistance Program. 98% of survey respondents reporting the assistance reduced financial burden and 97% reporting an increase in their quality of life after receiving assistance. Participants addressed their largest financial need was housing (35%) followed by transportation (29%) and utilities (25%).
