Incredibly psyched for Dylan Telano & the VoyceMe team as they continue to accomplish significant milestones & innovate in the market for anime, manga & webtoons. Since meeting Dylan in 2022, we've been consistently impressed with his ability to produce outstanding original webcomics that captivate VoyceMe's booming readership. We can't wait to see how the platform continues to champion creators and propel this cultural wave forward. Special shoutout to our partners, Meera Clark (Redpoint), Christopher Harper & Jonathan Keidan (Torch Capital)! Been a lot of fun working on this together and the best is yet to come 🚀 CC: Scott Birnbaum, Ken Lau https://lnkd.in/eB5H-PcM

Reflecting on My Journey from Dreamer to Co-Founder of Little Unusual A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of returning to my alma mater, AAFT University of Media and Arts, to share the journey from a tier-3 city dreamer to tech entrepreneur. Here are some pivotal moments: 🎬 The Spark: At 14, inspired by creators like Peter Mckinnon, I discovered my passion for filmmaking. This led me to pursue a degree in Animation, where I began freelancing, focusing more on learning than earning. 🚀 Big Break: My second year of college brought a significant opportunity with Superteam, thanks to an introduction by Rakshit. This first commercial project not only challenged me but also opened the doors to joining Superteam, marking a major turning point in my career. 👏 Growth and Mentorship: Recognition from industry leaders like Tanmay Bhatt and guidance from mentors such as Kash Dhanda were crucial. They helped navigate the complexities of client interactions and pricing, significantly shaping my professional approach. 🤝 Founding Little Unusual: In my final year, a partnership formed with Tushar Sinha through our shared vision and work ethos. In January 2023, we launched Little Unusual, committed to innovation and quality in the creative industry. 📈 Today: From starting as two freelancers to now leading a team of seven, the growth of Little Unusual is a testament to the power of passion fused with hard work. Our journey is far from over; it's just the beginning of exploring more horizons. I'm immensely grateful for the support from the Superteam DAO and the Solana community. Here’s to continual learning and future adventures. #entrepreneurship #animation #filmmaking #startuplife #leadership

"Perfect is the enemy of good.” According to Wikipedia, this is an aphorism is commonly attributed to Voltaire but we’ve all probably heard this or something similar- e.g. “done is better than perfect.” In 2011, I embarked on a journey to specialize in explainer videos. My initial push was led by a super basic website that I designed myself on a drag and drop platform and an unlikely hero I created: The Gisteo Guy. The Gisteo Guy was more than a mascot; this simple animated character captured the essence of Gisteo's ethos, playing a key role in driving the company to achieve plenty of revenue to date. Launching the Gisteo Guy was a leap of faith. The rudimentary animation, hideous outfit, square head, imperfect lip sync and stark environment didn't scream "high production value," but it was exactly what we needed to stand out. I could have easily waited more months to “perfect” the website and launch video, but I didn’t and the video you see below worked very well. This reinforced an invaluable lesson: perfect really is the enemy of good. The Gisteo Guy was our Minimal Valuable Product in terms of an intro video, proving that taking action often trumps waiting for perfection. A reminder to all entrepreneurs and creatives: start where you are, use what you have, and refine as you go. That just might make all the difference. #MVP #marketing #startups

Did you know that Whitebalance was founded over a shared passion for making creative work smoother and faster? It all started when Lorraine Ma, an award-winning filmmaker whose films have dazzled at Cannes and been picked up by VICE Media, joined forces with Hari Mohanraj, a tech wizard who helped build Shipt (later acquired by Target). In 2021, they teamed up to solve a simple but critical problem—how to make high-quality video and audio processing faster. One day, they demoed a prototype to an early investor: a Major League Baseball (MLB) team. The team liked what they saw, but they also pointed out something bigger—a pain point they faced every day: copyright infringement. It was one of those ‘aha’ moments. Lorraine and Hari realized that beyond speed, there was a chance to solve a much deeper issue affecting content creators everywhere. So, they got to work. Over the next few months, they asked a lot of questions, listened even more, and what started as a sleek prototype evolved into a full-fledged product. And that’s how Whitebalance was born. A tool designed to make life easier for creators by tackling copyright challenges head-on, so they can focus on what they do best: telling great stories. And this story is only just beginning... #ClearedForUse #TBT #StartUp #FoundersStory

1st impressions matter - does your website pass the test? I grabbed all of the keys points and rules from the Y Combinator video featuring Aaron Epstein & Zack Onisko: * Don't confuse your audience * Limit to one headline, one subheadline, and one call to action * Animation can help focus user attention * The wrong animation can be distracting * Simplify the language above the fold * Answer: what is the problem and who do you solve it * Make headlines easy to read * Animations should help tell your story * Focus on clarity and avoid unnecessary info above the fold * Make sure your site is optimized to load quickly https://lnkd.in/gNZJ8HBp

🐵 One view of creativity is that it is fundamentally about memorization... --- I'm often made fun of for bringing a "system" into creative outlets. Things like: ➡ written-down heuristics on best DJ transitions ➡ breaking down the humor patterns of comedians and memes ➡ or a checklist of best practices for competitive video games (e.g. Rocket League, Call of Duty). But I think this critique misunderstands what creativity truly is: a flash of inspiration connecting internalized concepts. The inspirational lightning bolt writers and artists experience can't happen unless they know how to write or draw. A pun can't be created unless the author sees the similarity between one word and another they already know. A DJ can't mashup two songs unless they're familiar with both. Creativity comes to those who have internalized the patterns of their art -- they can see the connection or novelty because it's all in their head. Therefore autonomy enables creativity, and a system helps achieve autonomy quicker. Source: Ashwin Matthews [link below] #creativity #marketing #business #startups

Dylan Telano is doing something many would consider impossible—or at the very least, far from being venture-backable. With VoyceMe, Telano is hoping to solve core issues for artists working in manga and webcomics, while meeting the demand of a growing and interconnected media market. VoyceMe has raised new seed capital, bringing its total funding so far to $10 million, Fortune can exclusively report. This latest round was led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from Torch Capital, Red Sea Ventures, and Clara Vista Partners, all existing investors. The company did not disclose a valuation. The bear case for VoyceMe is pretty obvious: If monetization never takes off at scale or if it never reaches that scale in the first place because the market isn’t big enough, that’s that. The bull case, Fortune's Allie Garfinkle argues, is a lot more interesting. That case expressly includes the idea that not only is the marketplace for anime and webtoons big enough—it’s growing. Exclusive: Redpoint-backed VoyceMe has raised $10 million in seed funding to tap the $100 billion-plus market for anime, manga, and webtoons

I am thrilled to share that we did the impossible. 🚀 After so many days of waiting, The Test Tribe has launched its new product - Finer Circle. A place for all testers to learn, network, grow, and assess themselves. 📈 When we were tasked with creating the launch video for Finer Circle, we had only 3 days left. The video was to be in 3D. Our first thought was, "How will we deliver so fast?" 🤔 But we knew how important it was for the team to showcase their product in the best light. So, we got to work. We spent hours storyboarding the script, thinking of all the ways we could highlight the essence of the product. After 3 hours, we had a clear plan and got to work on the design and animation. 💪 Was this journey easy? Definitely not. Were we confident we could do it in 2 days? Not at all. But we knew that by taking on this project, we would give everything to bring it to life and produce a quality video. Here is the final video for all of you to see! 🚀 🚀 For all the testers out there, get your entry into this amazing membership today! P.S. If you are a brand that wants to bring your products to life or if you know any brands that would love to see their products shine, comment below or tag them, and I will reach out to you. 💫 💫 💫 #agencylife #Entrepreneurship #3DAnimation #Animation #clientsuccess #story #thetesttribe #letsworktogether
