Lately I’ve received an unusual amount of feedback on my posts, which is one of the best compliments you can give to someone whose content you follow. Not just the “wow, that was great” stuff that we all like but specific requests for “more of this and less of that.” More broadly, for the past quarter I’ve received several hundred such notes, and a third of those asked for more detailed descriptions of how causal analytics can be used to gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of your GTM. Personally, I see this sort of contact with you as far more valuable than any LinkedIn stat. Early next week I’m going to publish the first such post, which focuses on using #causalanalytics to create mutually beneficial “horse races” between multiple partners. This won’t be “Math Class” but rather a discussion re how to operationalize the analytics and gain better effectiveness and efficiency. I’ll be discussing two red-hot requested examples. I’ll be sharing years of experience in the two scenarios, both on the brand side and at ProofAnalytics.ai: 1. calibrating and optimizing the division of spend across multiple #agencies based on effectiveness and efficiency, and 2. optimizing the allocation of #MDF (Market Development Funds) across multiple channel partners based on the effectiveness and efficiency with which they deploy the MDF. In large companies, MDF is not an expense but contra-revenue, and it can amount to hundreds of millions of dollars, euros, etc. I’m looking forward to this, and I appreciate your confidence and your guidance!

We hear these terms all of the time, or at least I do! Do you prefer a Data-Driven or a Client-Focused approach? In particular when it comes to your marketing. Do you prefer an approach that looks at analytics and uses pure, logical data to drive your decisions, strategy, and approach? Or do you prefer to focus on the Client, putting the person at the centre and taking a more human approach to determining what is needed for an effective marketing strategy? In reality, we need both. For me, the Client is always at the heart of things. Your website, social media, etc, must accurately represent the human side of your business. That is where the connections are built. Data provides backup to that, with numbers and logic to help ensure that the strategy makes sense, that it works, and that it will convert leads into sales in your business. As in so many things, the potential is huge when the human and tech sides work together. For me, effectively combining both approaches is where the power really is. It creates space to build a strategy that works for the person and the machine, connecting to souls as well as algorithms.
