👏 We’ve released our latest Environmental and Society Manifesto. As part of OT Group, we’ve committed to: ✔️ Reduce our carbon emissions against our 2021 carbon baseline by 50% by 2030. ✔️ Increase our social value by 50% against our 2021 baseline by 2030. Working closely with our employees, customers, suppliers, investors, and communities is a continual journey. And we’ve made good progress during the last year. But there’s more to come. Our vision focuses on three key areas: 1️⃣ Planet We strive to reduce our carbon and regenerate nature. 2️⃣ People We want to drive a fairer society and support our local communities. 3️⃣ Partners We encourage responsible behaviours from everyone we work with. During the last year, we’ve actively reduced our carbon footprint and remain on target for our 2030 goal. We’ve also improved inclusion across the business and established a community outreach programme. And we’ve revised our sustainable procurement process. Positive steps in the right direction. Last week, our team attended the Global Sustainability Partnership Network (GSPN) conference. It was an inspiring event that brought together passionate individuals dedicated to advancing sustainability efforts. At Ever Sustainable, we're committed to staying at the forefront of sustainability discussions, and the GSPN conference provided the perfect platform for us to do just that. Here's a summary of some of the insightful discussions from our time at the event: 📌 Scope 3 emissions and supply chain issues are continuously the most complicated matters organisations face, with technology and data gaps restricting organisations in their sustainability ambitions. 📌Sustainability approaches need to be more "disruptive of the status quo" to drive the level of change required. Should short-term profitability be sacrificed in order to deliver fully sustainable supply chains responsibly and in a just manner? 📌Regulatory requirements shouldn't be seen as "green hushing" but rather as providing a space to authentically and transparently tell your story in a way that is clear and impactful to those engaging with your reports. This week we have been talking rubbish. Following on from Global Recycling Day on Monday 18th we held our ‘Let’s Talk Rubbish’ event, where we spoke about all things waste and recycling, and how we can move waste up the waste hierarchy. We invited a guest from ACM Environmental Ltd to join and share insights from the waste industry. We also shared tools and tips on how we can all do more to reduce our waste. The activities delivered this week have focused on highlighting the importance of recycling as part of a commitment to protect the earth’s natural resources and to drive towards a more circular economy. One of the key focuses as part of our ESG strategy.
