California is at the epicenter of global demand for long-duration storage. This week’s announcement by the California Public Utilities Commission proposes the procurement of over 10 GW of new energy resources (that do not use lithium-ion) including 1 GW of multi-day long-duration energy storage (LDES) and another 1 GW of 12-hour-plus LDES. Mark Higgins Redflow’s CCO said, “Redflow has a strong track record in delivering behind-the-meter microgrids in California for critical infrastructure which has put us on the radar of those looking at long-duration storage. Our next-generation large-scale product will be ready to offer a highly competitive and perfectly positioned solution for these new ambitious procurement projects.
