This Women’s Month, Redpath Mining South Africa is proud to launch its #ShareYourSpark campaign. This initiative is all about celebrating the incredible women within our organisation by sharing their stories, passions and inspirations. Through their voices, we aim to highlight the diverse ways in which Redpath’s women are making a difference in their professions, communities and beyond. Today, we’re sharing a heartfelt response from NTHABISENG SETIKO TT (SA) (Payroll Administrator), who reflects on the wisdom passed down from her grandmothers and mothers and how it has shaped her journey. “In the narrative of our lives, the threads woven by our grandmothers and mothers hold a significant and cherished place. These threads, enriched with love, wisdom, and stories, linger in our hearts, guiding us through our journey. The invaluable wisdom of our elders not only provides comfort but also inspires us to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace. As a young lady, I was fortunate to have a woman see potential in me and empower me to join the tax industry. Today, I proudly stand as a woman in the tax profession. This journey has been deeply influenced by the empowering spirit of the women who came before me, whose strength and determination continue to inspire my path.”

🌟 Empowering Women in Chaghi: A Path to Progress 🌟 As a proud daughter of Rekodiq, I am excited to see the strides being taken to empower women in our local community, particularly within the context of the Rekodiq mining project. I am grateful to Barrick Gold project for their commitment to women empowerment among employees. Empowering women in Chaghi is not just a choice; it is a necessity for sustainable development and growth. Women play a pivotal role in our society, and their empowerment is fundamental to unleashing the full potential of our community. In the realm of the Rekodiq mining project, it is crucial that women are not only included but actively supported and encouraged to participate. Through providing training opportunities, ensuring fair representation, and fostering a supportive work environment, we can empower women in the mining sector and drive positive change. By investing in the empowerment of women in Rekodiq, we are investing in the future prosperity of our community. Let’s collaborate to dismantle barriers, challenge stereotypes, and build a more inclusive and equitable society for all. #WomenEmpowerment #RekodiqMining #ChaghiCommunity #Inclusivity #Progress #BarrickGold.

To celebrate Women’s Month and acknowledge the contributions of The Actuate Group in the mining industry, we are presenting a short series focused on Women in Mining. This series delves into the challenges, changes, and progress within the sector, featuring insights from real women actively working in mining. Women represent 12% of the mining workforce in South Africa. Consider Zeinab Camara (representative picture): “Each morning, knowing that my work positively impacts the lives of both women and men is the greatest reward. Africa is blessed with immense resources—let these benefits be shared by all.” A major concern for women working underground is safety, particularly the risk of sexual harassment and violence from male colleagues and illegal miners. Improvements have been made to enhance safety for women working underground. These include better lighting, safer facilities such as toilets, showers, and changing rooms, and the provision of work buddies to ensure they do not have to move through isolated areas alone. The Minerals Council of South Africa also highlights that altering the mindset of male colleagues is essential for ensuring women’s safety at work, and this remains a top priority. Women like Zeinab are changing history by changing herstory. #WomensMonth #GBV #WomenInMining #StrategicChangeMarketing

For today’s #WCW, we are proud to shine the spotlight on an inspiring woman who has redefined what it means to be a leader in the mining industry - Zenzi Awases❤️ She stands as a pioneering force in mining, an industry where women have traditionally been underrepresented. Through her relentless drive and leadership, she has carved out a powerful space, reshaping perceptions and inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. As the Founder and Lead Consultant of EmpowerMine Consulting Services and President of the Women in Mining Association of Namibia, Zenzi has continuously demonstrated that women have a rightful place in mining—a sector where they have traditionally been underrepresented. Her leadership goes beyond titles for it is about driving meaningful change, offering strategic and technical guidance, and being a role model for the next generation. Zenzi’s journey spans almost two decades of unwavering commitment to the mining sector, focusing on mineral exploration. She is passionate about ensuring that women in mining are not just token figures, but active contributors to the success and sustainability of the industry. As she rightly puts it, “We are here to stay, to do a job and not just to look pretty. We must make a difference.” These words echo her dedication to pushing boundaries and breaking stereotypes. Her work as Vice-President of the Association of Women in Mining in Africa speaks volumes about her influence across the continent. Zenzi advocates for the empowerment of women in mining, ensuring that their voices are heard and their skills are recognized. To all the young women looking to make their mark in traditionally male-dominated fields, Zenzi is proof that with passion, resilience, and determination, you can conquer any space. Let her journey inspire you to dream bigger and strive harder. The mining industry is better because of women like her, and she is truly an example of how we can all make a difference. Stay focused. Stay driven. You belong here. I was intrigued by a recent survey on single family offices. Research from Calista Direct Investors SAS Investors found that even billion-dollar-plus family offices often lack the resources needed to fully meet their due diligence and sourcing needs. Over half of these families don’t have a formal investment committee and many report not having enough time for direct investments. At Moonfare, we understand these challenges. That’s why we created the Private Office with an investment team of 15, designed to complement single family office’s skill sets and to support them building sophisticated portfolios with access to top-tier private equity funds as well as some of the most sought-after direct deals and co-investments. If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out to me personally or explore more on our dedicated website: https://moonfa.re/3NmEtQo #PrivateMarkets #PrivateEquity #FamilyOffices #PrivateOffice #InvestorInsights #DirectDeals #CoInvestments

International Women's Day reminds us to stop and consider how far we've come. Many moons ago, Lynda Stone, business owner of Stone Cleaning Services, started her career as a hairdresser, a female-dominated industry. She moved to mining and construction, a male-dominated industry. What we can take away from gender-dominated industries is that regardless of gender, we must bring our best selves to work, show kindness and respect and regulate our emotions. It's not always an easy task, but an important one. By investing in ourselves and prioritising win-win relationships, we can accelerate progress. #InvestInWomen #personaldevelopment #culture #education #internationalwomensday #commercialcleaner #minesitecleaner #mining #minesitecleaning #industrialcleaning
