Give this plank exercise a try and if you can’t maintain this position with the hip, high off the deck, then place your knees on the ground - this will make it easier. ➡️ Many who are overweight will default to cardio exercise and neglect strength training. Often strength exercises including core work like I’m demonstrating get sidelined as too difficult or dangerous or what young people do. Variety in an athlete's strength training program is important. However, the only way to progress in the gym and get anything out of it, is to put in countless high-quality reps. Performance > Algorithm The algorithm isn’t going to pick up a good training program because it will be very boring, and boring doesn’t get views (ah, maybe this is where I’m going wrong). Many clients have asked me about exercises they have seen on social media and whether they should be doing them. Just because something looks fancy and oftentimes very impressive does not mean that it would be beneficial. This is not to say these exercises don’t have a place. They definitely can if your goal is to join the circus. I’m only joking.
