🌟 Reflecting on Leadership and Collaboration in Special Education Needs (SEN) 🌟
I recently had my first group meeting with Debbie Davis as part of my NPQ journey.
One of my takeaways was 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. It reinforced the idea that meaningful change is never the work of one individual—it requires collaboration, clear structures, and a shared commitment to achieving the vision.
Effective leadership in SEN requires not only a strong understanding of the policies but also the dedication of leaders who genuinely believe that mistakes are opportunities to grow and that we can make a real difference in students' lives.
This experience has deepened my belief that impactful SEN practices are rooted in supportive leadership and a collective drive to create inclusive environments. As I continue my journey in this field, I am excited to learn more, collaborate with others, and contribute to building systems that empower both educators and students.
What are your thoughts on leadership and collaboration in SEN? I'd love to hear your perspectives!

This morning was the start of my co- facilitation of the NPQSENDCO qualification for an international cohort with Jannine Howe. The participants were thoroughly prepared and brought so much to the most interesting discussions. Thanks everyone and Jannine, I’m so looking forward to the next Face to Face in December. Take care, Debbie.

Ad Astra Fellow, School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sport Science. Special interest in musculoskeletal health, sport and exercise medicine, and injury prevention.
I was fortunate to have an early look at this. And I was sceptical. "We're already doing it" is something we so often fall back too. But then the VALD team got me to try it out. And it is phenomenal. All the in-between data (grey data) we usually discard now available to help refine the prescription of the exercise.
And they work if you do them (*as one part of a holistic whole person robustness approach).
You can still do Nordics without tech. Of course you can. It's the beautiful simplicity of the exercise. But we know we don't. And we get frustrated if our test-retest doesn't show improvements. VALD have developed a solution.
Training Mode will help your patients/players/team buy-in, will help you see things differently, and create opportunities to optimize your exercise/training/loading early. And most importantly, I guarantee the players will love this. I did.
🚨The biggest innovation for hamstrings since the launch of the NordBord 🚨
Introducing Eccentric Training Mode. Words won't do it justice, so check out the video to see it in action.

Congratulations Abdirahman. To receive this Certificate of Award, Abdirahman had to populate a 130-page plus IQ OQ PQ protocol to qualify a Clean-in-Place System in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.
The protocol detailed the following elements:
- Product characteristics – showing what your system is looking to achieve/produce
- Production equipment – detailing the equipment necessary
- Test scripts and methods – telling you the steps involved in conducting a test
- Test parameters and acceptance criteria – defining acceptable test results
- Test checksheets – documenting and recording the test results
- Final approval – documenting that the validation process has been successfully carried out.
And to complete this assignment, Abdirahman had to learn the following:
- How to prioritise which parts of the equipment system are critical to qualify and which parts are not etc, using component impact assessments and risk management tools.
- How to read/interpret the engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Piping Isometrics and Electrical Loop Drawings used to define the equipment system.
- How the intent of a process (like maintaining the product at the required temperature) is linked to the equipment that will be used to do this.
- The tests along with the functional test scripts necessary to confirm that the installed equipment is fit-for-purpose, i.e. that it will do what it states that it will do based on the User Requirement Specifications).
- How to use a traceability matrix tool to ensure that all requirements defined within the User Requirement Specifications (URS) are tested in the protocol.
- How to qualify equipment, instruments and piping systems, and automation controls.
Well done again on your hard work!
I’m delighted to receive my Certificate of Award in ‘Commissioning Qualification of Equipment Systems’ from GetReskilled. Thanks to Geraldine Creaner and the team for their guidance throughout the learning process. Donagh Fitzgerald.
"Thrilled to share my participation in the National Level Short Term Training Program (STTP) 2k24, organized by Amrutvahini College of Engineering in collaboration with Brainovision Solutions and AICTE.
A great opportunity to enhance skills and connect with experts in the field. Here's to continued learning and growth!
