Today marks #EarthOvershootDay: the moment each year when our resource consumption exceeds the Earth’s ability to replenish. The earlier the date is, the faster we are consuming the Earth’s resources, and the faster we reach an unsustainable ecological deficit. It’s a wake up calling urging us to evaluate our choices. How can we work towards achieving a more balanced and regenerative relationship with the Earth's resources? 💚 🌍 #EarthOvershootDay #StartRegeneratingNow

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it." What does this mean to you as an individual? - Are you trying to reduce how much you consume? - Do you try to reuse and recycle items that often end up in land fills? - Do you reduce your fossil fuel energy usage by using public transit or using regenerative energy sources from solar, wind and hydropower? - Have you taken the Ecological Footprint Assessment? It's free and very insightful: https://lnkd.in/gvcTTuTg What does this mean to you as a business leader? - Do you take responsibility for your supply chain and materials used in making your products or providing services? - Do you factor in your impact on human, animal and other living ecosystems when developing your business plans and goals? - If you don't take responsibility for how your business operates and impacts our natural resources, our air, land, sea, wildlife and humanity, then you cannot say you want to save our world. We only have one livable planet right now and we are ruining it faster than it can heal from the injuries it sustains in our 24/7 never ending consumption mode. I'll be the first to say it's easy to be oblivious to these urgent matters when you live in a first world society that does an amazingly good job keeping you distracted from what's happening to our Earth and the living ecosystems that are vital for its sustainment. But, we have to all wake up! Read the book Ishmael, take this Ecological Footprint Assessment, take time to do an audit on your life and your business to get a clearer picture of what you are doing and how to improve. That's what my husband and I are trying to do. It's hard to change. Sometimes if feels like deprivation because we are used to living a certain way. But, in reality, taking steps each day towards living a more eco-friendly existence can also be a very liberating and freeing experience. In order to save our planet, everyone has to be involved. No exceptions. Let's go! #causesandiego #motherearth #ecofriendly #ecologicalsystem

|| ॐ त्रिनेत्राय नम: || Have you ever thought about the value of nature? It's called natural capital – and it’s something we all rely on every day. Natural capital includes everything we get from the Earth: clean air, water, soil and so much more. It’s the foundation of life itself. Sadly, many of us don’t realize how much we depend on these resources. Over time, we’re losing them through pollution and overuse. But there’s hope. By valuing and protecting nature, we can ensure a sustainable future for all. When we invest in nature, we’re investing in our well-being, our economy. 1. Healthy forests reduce climate change 2. Clean water supports communities and businesses 3. Biodiversity sparks innovation and growth By taking care of natural capital, we take care of nature. Let’s be mindful of the world around us. How do you think we can better protect our natural resources? Share your valuable thoughts in the comments. P.S. Even small changes in how we treat nature can make a big difference. Let’s begin today.

Plant growth is a slow, natural process, much like the tireless efforts of environmentalists working to restore our planet. It teaches us that meaningful change requires patience, dedication, and persistence. Just as a gardener nurtures plants with care, environmentalists invest their time and energy into protecting ecosystems, restoring forests, and advocating for sustainability. Though the results of these efforts may not be immediate, the long-term rewards; healthier ecosystems, thriving communities, and a more sustainable future are well worth the wait. This quote encourages us to trust the process, embrace resilience, and remain committed to the work of environmental restoration, no matter how slow progress may seem. Environmental work, like a growing plant, often faces setbacks—climate challenges, resistance, or resource scarcity—but with the right care and perseverance, nature finds a way to flourish. As we continue this journey toward a healthier planet, let this quote remind us that lasting impact takes time and steadfast dedication. #GreenQuote #Patience #EnvironmentalResilience #NatureTakesTime #Sustainability #SteadyProgress #RewardingResults #PlanetRestoration #TheGreens #EnvironmentalQuote #EnvironmentalEducation #SDGs Bunila Shalin Berinyuy Caroline Emma Nsangou Rudolf Zunwie Joel R Nsangou Rudolf Tanjong Mirian Nkfeme Kwe Baudouin

Nature Positive isn't just a concept; it's a commitment. It is a specific, measurable, and ambitious transformative goal that requires there to be more nature in 2050 than there is in 2020 with 30% of the globe to be protected or under restoration by 2030. So, what is the relationship between offsetting and Nature Positive? Well, offsetting compensates for loss of nature, whereas Nature Positive requires us to embed the value of nature in our decision-making, goals, strategies, risk assessments and design. Nature Positive is a societal goal that will see a revitalisation of nature, a reverse of the decline, an increase in ecosystems and abundance of native biodiversity, and correcting the economic frameworks that see nature as an externality. We need to embrace the ambitious vision of Nature Positive. Our latest article dives deep into the differences between offsetting and Nature Positive, what it means to be Nature Positive and why it's crucial for sustainability. Check it out at https://lnkd.in/dDF8gwrc Next week we visit a holistic view of nature, ecocentric not egocentric, and how Umwelt Environmental & Social Consultants can help you achieve your Nature Positive goals. #UmweltAustralia #environment #sustainability #BiodiversityMonth #NaturePositive

🌿 Throughout my life and career, I've always been driven by a deep commitment to sustainability and preserving the natural world. Growing up in the Czech Republic amidst ancient forests, nature was my sanctuary. I would spend endless hours wandering in the forest, listening to the whispers of the wind, feeling a deep connection to something far greater than myself. 🌲 This early connection to nature led me to study Environmental Economics at University of California, Berkeley, exploring sustainable ways humanity can evolve while respecting our limited natural resources. I learned about the threats to wildlife and our forests, melting of ice caps, the dangers of CO2 and pollution—and the ways we can mitigate these. Following my yearning to connect with nature on a deeper level, I became a forest bathing guide and studied ecotherapy. I’ve witnessed countless human souls transformed by the touch of nature. 🌱 Slowing down and immersing ourselves in the embrace of nature can be enormously healing. ✨ 🌍 When I look around today, I see an Earth still breathing yet crying for help. I can hear her voice; I can feel her during my daily meditations. But I also see an immense movement towards sustainable business practices—countries and companies stepping up to secure a brighter future. The pace of innovation is faster than ever before. 🚀 💡I believe in the brilliance of the human spirit, in our capacity to invent and innovate in the face of a crisis. I see a growing movement of people who, like me, recognize that we need nature in its pure, healthy state to survive and thrive on this planet. I am passionate about supporting companies that are leading the way with innovative solutions to address the climate crisis 🌍 and preserve our planet for future generations. 🌿 My connection to nature is spiritual 🙏, a grounding element that reminds me of the harmony and peace we must strive to return to in a world polluted and deeply hurt by our actions. Yet, I remain hopeful. Because as more of us awaken to the truth that we are not separate from nature but a part of it, I believe we can restore balance. Together, we can heal our planet and create a future where both humanity and nature flourish side by side. 🌿🌍✨ #Sustainability #ClimateAction #SustainableFuture #GreenInnovation #SustainableBusiness #EnvironmentalAwareness #NatureConservation #Biodiversity #ProtectOurPlanet #RenewableEnergy
