It was dedicated to identifying open challenges in data access and data sharing, upgrading digital tools in CAP implementation, and practical views on integrating DIH AGRIFOOD applications into agricultural practices in Slovenia. It was really great to attend RAStech Magazine conference with ReelData AI ‘s Matt Zimola Adam Bird, CPA, Gareth Butterfield Ohad Maiman and Alex Behar and geek out over the future of sustainable aquaculture. 🐠 As Ohad said in his keynote “There are not enough fish in the sea.” So we must find ways to farm fish with less environmental impact than pens in the ocean. 🍣 RAS (recirculating aquaculture systems) is like indoor farming but for fish. Reel Data’s cameras, sensors and AI help fish farmers feed, weigh, and count fish. They lower cost and improve the profitability of the infrastructure. 🐟 Salmon is the most common fish farmed in RAS, with other species coming on strong like shrimp, redfish, and black cod. His current research program is using drones for Precision Ranching, with a goal towards improved management of both the animals and the land base they depend on. 🌾 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗱  Dr. Renee Prasad is an Associate Professor and Head of the Agriculture Technology Dept at the University of the Fraser Valley. An alumnus of the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University and Washington State University, Dr. Prasad’s research interests include pest management, agroecology, and field production of vegetable, berry and forage crops.
