It’s not very often I get to deliver sessions on my doorstep. Yesterday I did just that as I was invited to Duncan Jones' managers meeting where, alongside Daniel Ansell, all of the management for Financial Services and Estate Agency were gathered, as well as a representative of HR. It was a big delivery day for me, you don’t often get to deliver to a room full of senior management. Did it stretch me? Yes. Did it challenge me? Yes I still loved every minute. My session was all about are we having the right conversations with our staff, to ensure they are motivated, developed and performing to their true potential. Not to say we aren't, but it's a session to heighten awareness. To do that we had to look at ourselves and there were some fantastic discussions around the table. There’s training, and then there’s facilitation, which is all about positioning a topic and asking questions to encourage others to think. We did just that. Some of the things we discussed were.. ▪️Emotional intelligence, and why it is so important to use & develop this skill ▪️Setting standards, and how they can form the foundation of a professional relationship ▪️Honest conversations, why it's right to have them for the benefit of you, and the individual. We crammed a lot into those 3 hours and the involvement of the team was awesome. And it was in Wolverhampton too 😀 #leadershipdevelopment #learninganddevelopment #emotionalintelligence
