June 24, 2015. Like countless other days, it slipped by in a blur of caring for three babies, grocery shopping, preparing meals, tidying the house, and juggling part-time work. Yet, on this particular day nine years ago, amidst the hustle, an idea that Jason Hunsaker had was formed into an official LLC. HTS Coatings was born out of a tentative "maybe," a moment so fleeting we didn’t even take a selfie! 🤳 🤣 But God had grander ideas for that "maybe." Looking at this picture, near this significant date, I am reminded that our path has been nothing short of extraordinary, guided by divine hands every step of the way. Amidst the expansive growth and organized chaos, there remain moments where time seems to stand still. Just like yesterday, June 24, 2024, passed much like it did nine years prior—now bustling with the care of four children, permitted driving trips to the grocery store, doubling recipes for meal preparations, housekeeping, and the demands of full-time work. Once again, no selfie captured on this significant milestone of NINE years in business. As I imagine the next nine years unfolding, I see many more days a blur of routines and responsibilities. And yet, I’m filled with anticipation and joy at the possibility of growth and transformation of both HTS Coatings, LLC and our family. Maybe even grandbabies???? 🌪️ The past 4-6 weeks have been a whirlwind of activity for me! As the primary caretaker for my mom, I've been helping her transition from her home of over 60 years into a cozy one-bedroom apartment. This has involved endless purging, sorting, and preparing her beloved home for the market—quite the emotional and physical effort. As if that wasn’t enough, we had an unexpected porcupine visitor! Our two Australian Shepherds found themselves on the wrong end of the quills, requiring multiple trips to the ER. One of our pups even had to undergo surgery today to remove a deeply embedded quill after four previous visits didn’t fully resolve it. 🐾 With everything happening at once, some things inevitably fell through the cracks. Leadership isn’t about perfection—it’s about accountability. When life throws curveballs, it’s important to face them head-on, manage what you can, and extend yourself grace as you handle the rest. During this time, engaging my slow brain helped me remain calm, reasonable, and resilient under pressure (this was tough). Whether it’s leading a team or leading yourself through life’s challenges, the core principles remain the same: staying adaptable, accountable, and composed. I’m also deeply grateful for a stable and supportive partner, who has been my constant through it all. 💛 🧠 Leadership Lessons Learned: +Expect the unexpected – Life rarely follows a perfect plan. +Patience is powerful – From supporting loved ones to handling unforeseen challenges, leading with patience gets you through. +Adaptability is essential – Whether adjusting to the unexpected or shifting strategies, leaders need to stay flexible. +Accountability with grace – It’s not about avoiding mistakes, but how you handle them when they occur.
