The AWARE project started on the 1st of June. As the name ‘Achieving Human-Machine Collaboration with Artificial Situational Awareness’ indicates, the project aims to develop and test an AI Assistant Application  providing adaptable human-centric support to enhance air traffic controllers' performance and reduce their workload despite high task complexity. The AWARE consortium is led by University of Zagreb; its members are IFATCA, LFV, Slot Consulting, TERN Systems EHF, UkSATSE, UPM, JKU Linz, and ZHAW School of Engineering. The project builds on the results of the previous AISA project. #ogsresearch #citizenscience 👨👨👦👦👨👩👧👦 After three years of experimentation COCAL, the participatory science project designed by OGS, becomes operational and public. 💪 Devices to measure air quality on private cars and public transport buses has been developed and installed thanks to the project's team. In particular, a network of mobile sensors has been developed to monitor air quality (particulate matter) in urban areas in real time. 🚌 The approach is based on the use of several vehicles in which sensors, detection and transmission devices are installed thanks to the collaboration with the local transport company (TPL FVG). 📳 From 2021 COCAL has collected more than 100 million of measurements, which show various hotspots and trends in air pollution in the city of Trieste and are the subject of various scientific publications in international journals. 🔎 https://lnkd.in/gXeTmhu8

I had the incredible opportunity to present our project at the 14th International Conference on Emerging Ubiquitous Systems and Pervasive Networks (EUSPN-2023) in Almaty, Kazakhstan! 🌟 My research focused on the impact of time pressure on taxi drivers' driving speed, utilizing a driving simulator to gather and analyze data. This study aims to enhance our understanding of how stress factors influence driver behavior, contributing to safer and more efficient transportation systems.
