📈💰 Quick Gains Series: How to improve your municipal revenues In my experience, one of the major causes of municipal revenues being lost has to do with Supplementary Valuations. General Valuations only happen every couple of years, but in between many properties increase in value for various reasons such as improvements. Such increases in value are published and approved on Supplementary Rolls. The information in the Supplementary Roll must then be updated in the municipal billing system. This ensures that the correct valuation and land use is used for calculating property rates. But many times, these values are not correctly updated, leading to avoidable revenue losses. 1map Spatial Solutions' spatial information platform has empowered many municipalities and consultants over the years to recover millions in lost revenue! What tools do you use to enhance revenues at your municipality? #municipality #revenuemanagement #propertyrates #propertyvaluation #financialsystem #1Map #gis

The last two years of the Transport Coordination Plan, Performance Snapshot have just dropped. Check out the link in the comments. For those who don’t know, this is a crucial piece that tracks how the Department of Transport and Main Roads is doing with infrastructure investments across the state, covering everything from road safety to public transport and more. From 2017 to 2021, I had the privilege of working on this project, leading the charge to turn what used to be a complex maze of metrics and dashboards into something much more meaningful: a story that people can actually connect with. We went beyond the numbers and focused on insights that really matter. If you’ve ever heard me go on about "data stories," this is where it all began for me. Big shoutout to the awesome team led by Jaco van den Berg, jay p, and Kobe Ip, with incredible contributions from William An, Ricardo A Cubillos, Warren Chase, and An Nguyen. Your hard work and dedication made this all possible. A special thanks to Minister Bart Mellish for putting this information out there, especially so close to an election. It’s not always easy, but it shows a real commitment to transparency and keeping Queenslanders in the loop about where our infrastructure investment is headed. Take a look at the latest Queensland Transport Snapshot, and let’s keep the conversation going about how we can use data to make a real difference! #DataStories #QueenslandTransport #Transparency #Teamwork #ProudMoment

Traffic analysis for Gwinnett Place CID in May and June shows positive trends! Pleasant Hill Road saw a 12% increase in NB speeds and an 11% reduction in travel time during AM peak, thanks to schools being out. Although PM speeds remained similar to April, the duration of the PM peak period decreased. Year-over-year data indicates minor changes in travel speeds, with significant reductions in bottleneck duration on Pleasant Hill Road at I-85 ramps and Club Drive. These improvements help ease congestion and enhance travel efficiency across the district.

1). Credit to Alden M. Monzon in Inquirer News March 22, 2024 Management Association of the Philippines (MAP): Metro traffic so bad it calls for ‘state of calamity’ https://lnkd.in/gXVXTHpA 2). Credit to Manila Standard March 22, 2024, 7:21 pm P3.5b losses from daily traffic warrants placing Metro Manila under ‘state of calamity’—MAP https://lnkd.in/gSwPq-jE --------------------- The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) has urged the government to declare a “state of calamity” in Metro Manila in view of its worsening traffic congestion that is currently costing the economy an estimated P3.5 billion a day. “This traffic congestion in Metro Manila has been so severe that an estimated P3.5 billion daily economic loss is being incurred continuously, and therefore more than merits a declaration of a state of calamity,” he said, adding that President Marcos may use emergency powers to provide relief measures. The MAP plan involves the appointment of a “traffic czar” and organizing the region into four zones that will each be headed by a traffic manager. --------------------- Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) through its Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chair Eduardo Yap gave this assessment during a recent House committee hearing on Metro Manila Development. He said the magnitude of the economic damage due to traffic exceeds the threshold for declaring a state of calamity, which typically stands at P1 billion.
