Why is it that we discuss where our coffee comes from, how it was processed, but never where it ends up? In response to the pressing need for sustainable waste management in the coffee industry, Reground partnered up with Single O. Together, we’re transforming the way the industry views waste. This collaborative project was born from a shared recognition of the significant environmental impact of ground coffee in landfill and a collective desire to address it holistically. Sending ground coffee to landfill releases harmful emissions into the atmosphere, as the grounds don't have sufficient oxygen to break down naturally. Instead, we believe in turning waste into a resource that can be used by our community. By combining Reground's expertise in waste behaviour change and the circular economy with Single O dedication to sustainability and innovation, we’re leading the way for a new industry standard. By introducing product stewardship to the coffee industry, Reground and Single O are empowering roasters to take ownership of their waste and decrease their environmental footprint throughout the supply chain. #CircularCoffee #Partnership

A stain on the cup is better than a stain on the environment 🌎🌱 At Barista, we understand the significance of every cup we serve. But beyond perfecting the art of coffee, we recognize our role in protecting the environment as responsible corporate citizens. By introducing compostable sugarcane lids in June 2023, Barista saved an impressive 2,650 kg of plastic from only the lids by March 2024, making our coffee cups 100% biodegradable. By embracing our sugarcane coffee cups and reducing waste, we accept the occasional stain on our coffee lids as a small price to pay for a cleaner planet. Each coffee stain on our cups symbolizes a step away from disposable habits and a move towards sustainability. This World Environment Day, let’s celebrate the stain on our cup as a pledge to our commitment to a greener, healthier world. Every stain is a mark of progress in our journey to preserve the environment for future generations. #worldenvironmentday

I wholeheartedly embrace the ethos of sustainability in every aspect of life. I believe in taking small yet purposeful steps forward each day towards a greener future. In my view, progress doesn't always have to be groundbreaking; it simply needs to be in the right direction. Whether the steps are big or small, what matters is that they contribute positively to our planet. For me, choosing to be a #cratehero means committing to making environmentally-conscious choices daily. It's about realizing that even seemingly minor actions can collectively make a significant impact. Let's continue to champion sustainability in our everyday lives and work towards a better world for all.

What looks like a normal coffee cup is actually a Circular&Co. returnable cup. 💡Only 5% of the public are consuming coffee with a reusable cup. The rest using disposable cups results in pollution that ends up in landfills and in our oceans. What an excellent initiative adopted by Noa Bakehouse to encourage circularity!☕️ How it works is you pay a small deposit for the returnable cup when ordering a coffee to take out and get your deposit back when you return the cup 💸♾️ https://noa.im https://lnkd.in/eqPDMaCq #circularity #sustainability

Norway leads the way in beverage container recovery, achieving an impressive 92% return rate through its deposit return system (DRS), with less than 1% ending up as litter. What’s their secret? 🔍👇 It’s a concept we call Clean Loop Recycling ♻️ By returning beverage containers through DRS and reverse vending machines, materials stay high-quality, ready to be recycled into new containers over and over. This closed-loop approach reduces litter and drives a truly circular economy. 🌟💪 Want to learn more? Explore the details here: https://lnkd.in/dbdFaFi6 #CleanLoopRecycling #CircularEconomy #Recycling
