What a great Dutch and international companies we met!
This year, 160 Dutch companies were present, including 40 🇳🇱 under the colours of the Dutch pavilion. These companies demonstrated their expertise and ability to create innovative new products, for example in the meat 🥩 and dairy 🧈 sectors, in the organic sector or alternative food solutions such as hybrid meats. These included Scelta Mushrooms 🥇, winner of a SIAL 2024 Innovation Award, as well as Beyond Meat Zandbergen World's Finest Meat, VanDrie Group, TOP The Onion Group, De Wijndragers #LiefdeVoorEten #LiefdeVoorEten, Goedegebuur Vlees Rotterdam B.V., The Crushi and Rival Foods
At the end of the day, at a reception in the Dutch pavilion, Sara Offermans gave a speech in honor of SIAL and all the Dutch companies present.
💬 “Innovation is one of the most important features of this fair. The Netherlands have traditionally been very innovative 💡 in agriculture and food, so it is very appropriate that there are many of us here. The 🇳🇱 Netherlands and France 🇫🇷 work closely together in the field of agriculture and food innovation. This of course concerns Wageningen University & Research and its counterpart the French INRAE. These two are each other's most important partners in Europe. By this I also mean that they are the most successful in bringing in all kinds of European 🇪🇺 and international projects and funds. But there is also a lot of cooperation in the private and public-private spheres. You can think of big companies developing R&D activities in both countries; I only have to mention Danone, Roquette, DSM and Heineken, and you know enough. And as you know, startups and smaller companies are vital to innovation as well.”

Op 21 oktober 2024 ging Sara Offermans, plaatsvervangend ambassadeur in Frankrijk, samen met het landbouw team van de ambassade naar de 60e editie van de “SALON INTERNATIONAL DE L'ALIMENTATION” in #Parijs om kennis te maken met de aanwezige Nederlandse bedrijven. Aan het einde van de dag, tijdens een receptie in het Nederlandse paviljoen, hield Sara Offermans een speech ter ere van SIAL en alle aanwezige Nederlandse bedrijven.
"Nederland is vanouds erg innovatief op landbouw en voedselgebied, en daarom is het zeer terecht dat we hier met velen zijn. Nederland en Frankrijk werken nauw samen op het gebied van landbouw en #voedselinnovatie. Dat betreft natuurlijk in de eerste plaats Wageningen Research en haar evenknie de Franse INRAE. Deze twee zijn elkaars belangrijkste partners in Europa en zijn zeer succesvol bij het ontwikkelen van allerlei Europese en internationale projecten."
