Sharrie Harlin, Manager of Community Engagement for Reid Health, started Medical Monday when she worked for the Minority Health Coalition and maintained the event after joining Reid. This November, Medical Monday celebrates 15 years as a resource for the community to provide information on health issues, community programs, and preventive screenings. Thriving Thursday was added in Connersville five years ago this month, and both events have loyal followings, averaging 40 to 50 guests each month. The event is celebrating its fifth anniversary in November. For more on both events and how to register to attend, read https://lnkd.in/giVuE7Yx.

The holiday season brings joy but can also create challenges for our most vulnerable patients. For providers, it’s a critical time to emphasize holistic, compassionate care by: - Addressing Loneliness through groups activities or arranging virtual check-ins: Many patients face isolation during the holidays. Simple gestures like arranging virtual check-ins or facilitating group activities can make a difference. - Adapting medication routines to Holiday schedules:Ensure medication routines and care plans are maintained despite holiday disruptions. - Encouraging Communication: Collaborate with families to address patients' emotional and cultural needs, fostering a sense of inclusion. Together, let’s make the season one of connection and comfort for all!
