Credit article to reNEWS - Renewable Energy News The US installed a record-breaking 32GW of solar in 2023, during the first full year of the Inflation Reduction Act. The utility-scale sector alone added 22.5GW of new capacity, while nearly 800,000 Americans added solar to their homes, according to the US Solar Market Insight 2023 Year-in-Review released by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Wood Mackenzie. The 2023 installation figure of 32GW marked a 37% increase from the previous record set in 2021 and a 51% increase from 2022. #Americas #SEIA #Solar #USA #WoodMackenzie #QEDGroup #QEDEnergy #PrimeDispute

By 2035, the UK plans to boost solar capacity nearly fivefold to 70 gigawatts (GW). Leading this shift is Longfield Solar Farm — set to be the UK’s largest and one of Europe's biggest solar farms. We’re proud to play a crucial role in this record-breaking project, which will generate up to 500 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy, enough to power 96,000 homes. By delivering the environmental impact assessment (EIA), planning support and other permitting and environmental services, we’ve paved the way for Longfield to deliver 4.4 million tonnes of greenhouse gas reductions over its forty-year lifespan. PVMagazine with an article on the first floating solar project in Utah. "Utah’s first floating solar project is complete Ameresco constructed the project on a holding pond operated by the Mountain Regional Water Special Service District. Ameresco partnered with floating PV specialist D3Energy to install the 587.5 kW array. It is designed to generate 871,068 kWh of electricity each year, offsetting an estimated 609 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The system is expected to offset 92% of the plant’s grid energy consumption and reduce energy costs by 80%. “The District isn’t just implementing solar energy for its own sake – they are deeply invested in the economic aspects of this project. This first-ever floating solar array in Utah is both innovative and economically feasible, making it a prime example of sustainable development,” said Maltzelos." Shaping a cleaner and smarter world! I am excited that AES Indiana continues to expand its renewable energy fleet by seeking approval to acquire, construct and recover costs for the Crossvine solar plus battery storage project. The project will have 85 MW of solar capacity and 85 MW of battery power. Once operational in mid-2027, Crossvine will generate enough clean energy to power approximately 14,500 homes. This investment aligns with our commitment to providing diverse and sustainable energy solutions for our customers while supporting AES Indiana's energy transition. AES Indiana portfolio already includes Hoosier Wind in Benton County and Hardy Hills Solar in Clinton County. The three projects will generate approximately 760,000 MWh annually from solar, enough to power the equivalent of 63,000 homes when Crossvine is operational by mid-2027. Ground-mounted solar projects install panels on open land for large-scale energy generation, like solar farms. They use fixed or tracking mounts to capture sunlight efficiently. While requiring significant space and higher costs, they are scalable and easier to maintain. Despite environmental concerns, these systems play a key role in utility-scale renewable energy production. #Massolar #solarenergysolutions #solarpanelsystem #SolarPowered #greenenergy #GoGreenGoSolar #postingchallengenge #supportlocalbusiness
