🚀 We Did It Again! 🚀
I couldn’t sleep properly last Wednesday because I was too excited reviewing the October sales results for our website and Amazon. I'm incredibly proud of my team and our partner agency!
After achieving record sales in August and September, we’ve outdone ourselves once again in October—showing a remarkable 24% increase in website sales compared to last year. 📈 For Amazon, after an impressive 240% growth last year, we are now 74% up compared to last year as well! 📊
After hearing these results, someone asked me, “How did you do it?”
While I’m honored to be part of this journey, the credit goes to my fantastic team. Here are a few key learnings I’ve gathered as a leader, reflecting on our success:
1. Get the Right People on the Bus: 🚌 Do not hire until you find the right people. For me, it took a year to find the right digital manager and eCommerce manager, and another 8 months to onboard our agency.
2. Listen: 👂 As Steve Jobs famously said, “It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” With the right people on board, they’ll guide us where to go and how to get there.
3. Support: 🤝 Provide your team with the best support possible. Shield them from unnecessary politics, remove obstacles, and always show appreciation for their hard work.
4. Align: 🎯 Just like a car needs regular wheel alignment, leaders must ensure every team member works towards a common goal.
In essence, it’s about assembling the right team, placing them in the biggest opportunities, and nurturing their growth. When they thrive, your business thrives!

A day in the life of Zoo Health is a busy one. Our staff is constantly in touch with our client offices, particularly the front desk. Emails, phone calls, documents requested and received, inbound patient calls and payments collected. I wouldn't say it's a zoo around here, because that dad joke is just too bad to make. The truth is we are highly organized and highly connected to our clients. If a physician has a problem, they pick up the phone and we will answer. This isn't anecdotal. It actually happened after hours last night and the physician said, "Are you still working?" The answer is always yes. We know our physicians work long hours taking care of patients. It's our duty to be there for them when they need us. We are truly in this together.
It's always surprising to me when we are ramping up a new practice and the physicians and staff comment on the communication level with us as compared to their last billing company. Our most recently signed client said, "I have to say I cannot believe the difference since Zoo has taken over. You guys are awesome people, just in general. Atmosphere, mood, everything. It feels like a team. We love that!" Sometimes it's easy to be resigned to the status quo and hard to make a change away from your current billing company, but I'm telling you that you don't have to accept that. Call us up.
