Wasps have a reputation for being aggressive and generally disruptive, and this usually heightens during the months of August to September. But why is this? 🐝 March to April – The temperature will begin to warm up for early spring, and the queen wasps will emerge from hibernation to find a spot for a new nest. These queens will look for sheltered locations, such as lofts. 🐝 June to July – This is the time where wasps will be at their most active. Worker wasps will forage for food and any additional material for the nest as required. This is the time where they're most likely to start invading your space. 🐝 August to September – The behaviour of wasps will begin to become aggressive. The queen wasps will be leaving the nest to find hibernation spots, leaving the workers without a nest to serve, causing them to roam and become desperate.

The research is clear: mixed-income housing is key to upLifting Orlando. 📊 70% of young adult Americans said that it was harder for them to afford a home than it was for their parents’ generation. In October 2021, about half of Americans (49%) said this was a major problem where they live—and this is up 10 percentage points from early 2018. Affording a home is now an American challenge; we need one another to learn how to handle this challenge best. For over a decade, Lift Orlando has been working with residents to create mixed-income housing opportunities, bringing beautiful homes to places like Pendana at West Lakes and Pendana Senior Residences. Both were created thanks to our phenomenal partner Columbia Residential. You can upLift your neighbor with Lift Orlando, too. 💧Water, Legacy, and the Power of Community: The Story of Seneca Village and Tanner’s Spring at Central Park ⛲️🌳 NYC What does water represent to a community? For the residents of Seneca Village in the early 1800s, it was far more than a resource—it symbolised survival, freedom, and growth. Established by free African Americans escaping the harsh realities of lower Manhattan, Seneca Village blossomed into a thriving community, built on resilience and hope. Homes, schools, churches—places that fostered unity and belonging in a city that often excluded them. By 1880, the story shifted to Tanner’s Spring. Dr Henry Samuel Tanner’s famous 40-day fast, sustained solely by the spring’s “pure” water, captivated the nation 🇺🇸 The spring became synonymous with health and wellbeing drawing people to its life-giving promise. These histories pose a profound question: How does water shape not only the land but also the identities and futures of those who gather around it? #WaterAndCommunity #SenecaVillage #CentralPark #tannersspring #hydratetheimagination #findaspring

84% of churched metro residents say, "If my church were no longer present in this community, it would be missed. But only 33% of unchurched metro residents say they are "very" or "somewhat" familiar with the people who attend churches in their community. There is conflicting good and bad news with this stat. The good news is that a third of the people in the urban unchurched community are connected, at the very least minimally, to an urban church. That means that the urban church is still seen as somewhat relevant to the neighborhood. However, the bad news is that urban Christians are overvaluing our connection to the neighborhood. A difference of 51 percentage points is quite a difference. If our doors closed, we would be missed a little – but not as much as the McDonald’s on the corner.
