👀 "Prior to Canada's opening match in the Olympics vs. New Zealand, it was revealed that the team had used drones to spy on their opponents, with assistant coach Jasmine Mander, and 'unaccredited' analyst Joseph Lombardi initially sent home before Priestman joined them."
The article reports that two members of Priestman's backroom staff flew a drone over New Zealand's training session.
To be clear, this isn't an issue with drones. It represents a larger metatrend, whereby individuals or organisations will use any means to gain a competitive advantage. In this case, a drone was used to observe an opponent's training session. In another setting it may be used for corporate espionage or to recce a target or even a simple home burglary.
The long and short of it is, this isn't something your organisation can ignore, it's coming whether you like it or not. Those not prepared will get caught out.
