Is your home office as messy as mine? I try, and try, and try…. Are we more efficient at home, alone? When I worked mostly in and with teams, I have to say it was better being with them and than not. Having the option, maybe even a regular option, to work from home is probably healthy. Is not being able to work face to face within a group on a regular basis something lost….especially for younger workers? What do I know? This is going to irritate some people, but it has to be said. I'm in something of a unique position with respect to the whole "Work From Home" concept. I've been doing it for 20 years. Work from Home or Work from Office? Which one do you support? Well, it depends on the #individual, but personally, I always prefer working from the office. Working from the #office allows me to participate more efficiently on the floor during meetings. I find it easier to understand discussions compared to being in a video call. Being in the office enables me to hear others' #opinions and share my own promptly. Additionally, I can address any doubts or questions immediately by talking to someone in person. I've also noticed that some people working from home struggle to respond promptly and meet deadlines. However, I understand that working from home works well for some individuals. I also agree with #workfromoffice because we get time to interact with our colleagues and understand the things in a better way. I have a confession to make. I miss my old co-workers. 😱 Don’t get me wrong, I am actually quite enjoying the new freedom that working for myself brings, but one of the things I miss the most, is being able to grab an impromptu coffee and brainstorm ideas. When you move to another city, in another country, with a totally new language, and you work from home, it’s easy feel, well, a little isolated. While my current co-worker Bentley (pictured below) is adorable, and a great listener, he’s unfortunately not the best conversationalist. Luckily coffee is a word that more or less translates in all languages. While Bentley and I have been actively expanding our network with in person coffee meet-ups, I’m always looking to connect and re-connect with my network to discuss new ideas, or brainstorm through some challenges.
