Renewable Carbon Initiative’s Post

Yesterday marked a significant step forward for European industry as a coalition of 73 industry leaders from 20 industrial sectors presented the '𝗔𝗻𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗽 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹‘ to the Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen. Dr. Martin Brudermüller, Cefic President said: ‚…By placing the European Industrial Deal at the forefront of Europe’s strategic agenda, the EU would pave the way for a resilient, competitive, and sustainable Europe. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐥𝐥." The declaration outlines a comprehensive strategy of 10 concrete actions to shape the future landscape of European industry, to restore competitiveness and keep good jobs in Europe. Of particular interest to us are points 5 and 6, which advocate for the 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐔'𝐬 𝐫𝐚𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 (𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝟓), 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐢𝐨-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐂𝐔, 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨, 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 (𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝟔). Additionally, point 3 focusing on 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 aligns with RCI’s goal.
