What does Ofgem's TCR really mean for consumers? 🤔 The Targeted Charging Review (TCR) is a program initiated by Ofgem, the energy regulator in the UK, aimed at reorganising how network fees are distributed and imposed on electricity transmission and distribution network users. ⚡️ One of the main alterations introduced by the TCR pertains to the restructuring of residual charges. Residual charges represent the fees imposed on consumers to cover the overall expenses associated with maintaining the electricity networks, ensuring system reliability and stability. Continue reading to explore the TCR in more details, its implications, and how it will affect energy consumers nationwide 👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/ehUWyspR #TCR #TargetedChargingReview #Ofgem

It's a tough gig isn't it explaining thet due to TCR, that was designed to benefit customers that their standing charges are going to increase by over £30,000 at renewal My question would be, has anyone benefitted from TCR? Will MHHS be the next big dip in the pocket?? https://lnkd.in/emHq5zVw #targetedchargingreview #ofgem #energyindustry #energynetwork #energybroker #energymarket

(12.17) NERC’s 2024 Long-Term Reliability Assessment (LTRA) highlight critical reliability challenges that industry is facing over the next 10 years: satisfying escalating energy growth, managing generator retirements and removing barriers to resource and transmission development. As a result, well over half of the continent is at elevated or high risk of energy shortfalls over the next 5 to 10 years. https://lnkd.in/g9UgdJvQ

CEA Reviews CERC’s Draft Order To Enhance Power Exchange Operations: Key Changes In TAM, DAC, And ADSS Markets The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has reviewed a draft order by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) dated October 4, 2024, which proposes several changes to improve operations on power exchanges. These adjustments target various market segments, including the Term Ahead Market (TAM), Any Day Single Side Double Auction Segment (ADSS), Intraday, and Day Ahead Contingency (DAC). In the TAM segment, CERC suggests standardizing trading slots and setting strict timeframes for different phases, like bidding, auctioning, and acceptance. This aims to reduce last-minute bids that may limit competition and potentially foster collusion. CEA noted that many bids in this segment […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gj24KP55 #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #cea #cerc #draft #greentermahead #powerexchange

NERC and Texas Reliability Entity, Inc. recently hosted a webinar for state policymakers that focused on how to improve inverter-based resource (IBR) reliability and detailed NERC's strategy to address #IBR risks, highlighting the pivotal role of state regulators and policymakers in shaping energy policy and ensuring #power grid reliability. NERC noted that IBRs make up a growing segment of North America's resource mix. Over recent years, NERC and the ERO Enterprise tracked several large-scale disturbances causing widespread IBR power loss. Following FERC’s direction, NERC is developing new and revised Reliability Standards to prevent IBRs from tripping offline during grid disturbances. And there we go! The energy markets are making a careful attempt at correcting lower. I'm not 100% convinced by the downleg yet so I keep an eye on the hourly chart for early signals. #NBP #natgas #energytrading

Sometimes, technical analysis helps me to just sit on my hands when the market is at an important turning point. This is especially true for the TTF now. There is no winners yet. We need to have the existing uptrend reconfirmed with a bounce, or have the new downtrend confirmed with a second close below the channel. It's those kind of moments that chip away on the PnL. #TTF #natgas #energytrading #energymarkets

💷 Why doesn’t the regulator step in? 💷 Unfortunately, energy brokers are not regulated, and OFGEM have no powers (at present) to deal with them. In the absence of regulation, we are looking to push for financial redress for businesses that have been mis-sold to.
