How can electric vehicles enhance flexibility in the energy system?
☀️ With the continuing rise of solar and wind power, the volatility of intermittent energy is causing growing complexity in balancing energy supply with demand.
⚡ Ancillary services play a crucial role in managing flexibility in the grid, and the demand for these services is expected to increase significantly until 2030.
🔋 Batteries in electric vehicles can rapidly support the grid during sudden imbalances, particularly in smaller ancillary reserves requiring swift reaction times.
This is part one of a three-part series in which we will explore the unlocked potential of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies.
What are your thoughts on the potential of V2G technologies?

Exciting news this week from NRG Energy and Renew Home on how they plan to work with Google Cloud to deploy a virtual power plant (VPP) to power an estimated 200,000 homes across Texas.
NRG and Renew Home will leverage the power of Google Cloud's advanced AI and data analytics platforms to optimize home energy management, and help NRG do things like better predict weather conditions, forecast wind and solar generation output, and create predictive pricing models. This will give NRG’s consumers greater control over their energy consumption.
Together, we’re using the power of cloud technology to make energy production more efficient and affordable and build a more resilient grid and sustainable future for Texas. Ben BrownRasesh PatelJason AltobelliRavi RamanathanAna Maria Recalde#AI#sustainabilityhttps://lnkd.in/eThv7RVb
While major datacenter operators are sourcing much of their energy from renewables, the need for continuous power — and more of it, driven by AI usage — means it will be difficult to phase out fossil fuel-based generation completely.

Great working with you on this Chevalier Gray, Sarah Spitz, Jason Altobelli, and Michael Clark!
Powerful Day in DC!
I had the incredible opportunity to attend the American Gas Association's and Edison Electric Institute "Understanding the Energy Industry" training program alongside industry leaders like CenterPoint, National Grid, Alliance Energy Corporation, and many others.
We covered everything from customer affordability, utility industry updates, federal and state regulatory issues, to evolving energy market trends. It was an insightful day filled with learning, collaboration, and strategizing for the future of the energy sector.
Highlights:
Balancing customer needs with affordability in an evolving market.
Navigating the regulatory landscape at both federal and state levels.
Embracing innovation and sustainability in the future of energy.
And as a bonus, I spent time with my amiga, a fellow HOPE Latina Sister, who’s serving in the White House.
While she’s making strides in national policy, I’m here contributing to the energy sector and learning more!
Together, we’re showing what Latinas can do, whether it's in energy or shaping policy at the highest level!

Our CEO Chris McKissack had the chance to connect with many great leaders in energy storage at The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Energy Storage Summit in the Big Apple this week! 🍎🔋
Key takeaways from the summit:
💪 Energy storage is crucial for grid strength and energy independence. As our industry matures, the focus is shifting from speed of deployment to excellence in operations.
⚡️ Storage will power us through heat waves, integrate renewables, and meet AI data center demand—but success requires experienced teams and well-executed projects.
💡 While U.S. storage deployments grew 40% from 2023 to 2024 (Wood Mackenzie), the industry's emphasis is clear: building high-quality systems that deliver lasting value matters more than quantity.
