The festive season has a way of bringing out the best in us but also some of the more challenging parts. As the season comes alive with gatherings, shopping, decorations, and endless to-do lists, it can sometimes unleash havoc on our self-talk. Maybe it's the stress of trying to get everything perfect, picking the right present, managing time, or feeling unprepared. Or perhaps it's the extra pressure of reflecting on the year gone by—thinking about everything you hoped to accomplish or what you could have done differently. This kind of pressure can slip into our self-talk without us even noticing, making the festive season feel less joyous. What if you chose to be your cheerleader and talk to Yourself the Way You'd Talk to Someone You Love? What if, each morning, you started with a clear intention to be loving and kind to yourself? And as the day gets busy, you could remind yourself to breathe, relax, and say, "I am doing my best, and my best is more than enough." These words may sound simple, but they can shift your energy and lift your spirit. #myvida #inspirationsource #womensgathering #thefeminineway #themasculineway #inspiredcoaching #courageousconversations #inspirationspace #sacredcircles #inspired #selflove #woman #consciousawakening #confidence #inspirationcircle #meditation #spirituality #focus #innerpeace #mindfulness #man #menandwomen #yinyang #awakening #unravelling #letgo #soulful #peace #sacred #sacredevent

What do you need to achieve happiness/joy sober this festive season? I haven't drank since August 2021 and this time of year can be challenging as there are lots of parties, family get togethers and more which involve alcohol. Everytime i drank I was always joyful (see picture) but I could feel the impact it was having on my health both physical and mental. So I decided to stop, went cold turkey and there was no more alcohol. This was tough but there were a few things that helped me. 1. Communicating to family and friends about what I was doing and why I was doing it to help set boundaries. For anyone else I just said no. I didn't need to justify what I was doing. 2. Limit alcohol fueled events that dont have purpose. Instead of going out every weekend/2nd weekend I would save myself for birthdays, stags and other events. 3. Keep busy. I filled my weekends with seeing more friends, hiking, seeing the dogs and other activities that reduced temptation for me. It does get tough sometimes as alcohol is everywhere but I'm now a lifer on the alcohol free train and that won't change. As the festivities ramp up this December keep safe, don't go too wild and keep doing the things that bring you joy without alcohol too. So let me ask again, what brings you joy sober? #humanresources #sober #festive

Christmas 🎄🎁🦌🧑🎄🐻❄️☃️❄️ Here's my annual reminder to take care of yourself during the festive period ❤️ 1) Create and stick to your financial budget 💵💳 Christmas can easily become very expensive but it doesn't need to be. Your presence is more important than presents. 2) Gatherings 💃🕺can be overwhelming 🫣 It's ok to find a quiet space or leave the party early and head back to your "safe space" 🏠 It's also ok to decline an invitation if you don't feel up to it 🫥🚫 3) Look after yourself💆 Festivities can sometimes mean that we over indulge on food, drink and often don't get enough sleep. Try to stick to a routine, grab some fruit and veggies, drink plenty of water and get some exercise. 🍓🍊🍌🥤🚶🏻♀️🏃🏻🤸🏽🚵🏿♂️ 4) If you have prescription medicine, make sure you've got enough to get you through the festive period. 💉💊 5) Do something that you want to do 🏋🏾♀️🧘🏌️🏇🛍️📚🎤🎷🪡 It's your Christmas too so spend time doing something that brings you joy and peace. 🤗 6) If the festivities are overwhelming or you just need someone friendly to speak to, there are lots of organisations who can offer that service.👂👥

**Keeping the Festive Spirit Alive All Year Long** This weekend we had our branch holiday party at Rawhide. (WOW! The holiday lights are incredible.) Listening to the music and spending time with team mates felt like a warm hug, and it motivates me to be kinder, more grateful, and more generous. It reminded me of how the holiday spirit can inspire us to bring more positivity into our thoughts, words, and actions, helping us crush our goals with a joyful heart. But how do we keep that feeling all year? Here are some tips that work for me: 1. **Practice Gratitude Daily:** I start or end my day by mentally listing things I'm thankful for. Even challenges: they are an opportunity to SOLVE, to bring value to our partnerships. 2. **Stay Connected:** Spend time with friends, family, and colleagues who uplift me. 3. **Celebrate Small Wins:** I celebrate achievements, no matter how small. 4. **Create a Positive Environment:** I surround myself with people that make me happy. 5. **Give Back:** I engage in acts of kindness throughout the year. By integrating these into our lives, we can keep that warm, festive feeling alive all year round. Let's make every day as joyful and inspiring as the holiday season! 🎄✨ #KeepingInsuranceHuman #Positivity #Gratitude #Teamwork #Success #Mindfulness #HolidaySpirit

Instructions for a regulated Christmas: 1. Stick to routines: Keep regular meals, bedtimes, and calming rituals to maintain predictability🫡 2. Include sensory breaks: Prioritise proprioceptive input, try to set up a “calm corner” for your child to recharge during busy moments😌 3. Set realistic expectations: Don’t pressure your child to join every activity or stay too long at gatherings, regularly check in with their feelings🫨 4. Offer choices: Let your child pick activities, decorations, or festive clothes to feel in control, offer out of 2 options not to overwhelm them with choice🤗 5. Schedule quiet time: Balance holiday excitement with planned downtime to avoid overwhelm. Even if your child appears to be enjoying the festivities they may get over stimulated and hyperactive🤯 Bonus Tips: Use visual schedules to prepare, emotion check ins using the Zones of Regulation, prioritise sensory-friendly activities, and respect your child’s preferences🎄🤶🏽🎅🏽 🎁 #OT #OccupationalTherapy #PaediatricTherapy #SensoryProcessing #EmotionalRegulation #SensoryFriendlyChristmas #Festivities #ParentTips #Genesis #MyDubai #OTabroad

In South Africa we've got this spicy little saying "it's festive, it's fokol" which is a cheeky expression used to get away with some questionable behaviour and reasoning during the festive season or "ke Dezemba" as we call it... But let's remember to be nice. Get those priorities straight! ✦ Be realistic You can't be everywhere and you can't please everyone. Make sure that you're functioning within your personal limits and prioritise your nearest and dearest at this time; that includes yourself! ✦ Be kind The festive season is actually pretty stressful for most of us. So lead with kindness and plan things (like shopping) ahead of time so that you can execute everything smoothly and without unnecessary time pressure. ✦ It's fine to not be festive. Do not be bullied into having to be "on a beat" all the time. If this is your time to unplug and unwind then do that! ✦ Remember: not everyone celebrates Christmas. Just because it may feel like it, doesn't mean it's the actual case. Bear in mind that there are many people around the world who do not share in the Christmas festivities so be mindful of your expectations if you do. And with that, may the last few days of the 2024 season bring you peace, joy and love in abundance. Be safe and may the new year bring you all that your heart desires. Count down to the Festival of Lights...... Each year, I adorn myself in lively colors, symbolizing my appreciation for life’s blessings, even during challenging times. This Monday, I'm diving into the vibrant energy of this festive season, reminding myself of the importance of gratitude and connection.
