Today, we honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous communities around the world.🌍
Many Indigenous communities possess a deep understanding of complex systems based on close interactions with their surroundings over many generations.
At BOEM, we are committed to fostering meaningful partnerships with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities.
Our work includes:
🌱 Incorporating Traditional Knowledge: We integrate Indigenous knowledge into our decision-making processes to ensure that resource management respects and reflects the wisdom of those who have stewarded these lands for generations.
🤝 Collaborative Engagement: Through continuous dialogue, we work with Native communities across the United States, and beyond to address concerns and develop best practices for consultation and cultural landscape approaches.

As a town, Ennis (and everyone who lives in and visits Ennis) stands to benefit beyond just economics from the proposed €48 million investment in four strategic sites. The Economic Impact Assessment recently published recognises the wide-ranging benefits of investing in public realm improvements that use existing infrastructure and amenities to enhance the well-being of the community and the environment.

Join Us for a Special Workshop on Crafting Meaningful Land Acknowledgements with Guest Jessica Vandenberghe P.Eng. M.Sc. FEC FGC (Hon) from Guiding Star Consulting
As Canadians and newcomers open their ears and hearts to the Truth of the oppressive history and presence of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, we can begin to take steps toward answering the Calls to Action. One impactful way to contribute is by creating and delivering meaningful land or territorial acknowledgements. These acknowledgements require thoughtful contemplation of whose hearts and footsteps have crossed the lands we work, live, and play on and who has been stewards of Land Spirit.
The Gateway to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Hub (GEDI-Hub) is honoured to host Jessica Vandenberghe from Guiding Star Consulting for this special 2-hour workshop.
📅 Date: June 27th
🕒 Time: 11 am - 1 pm

Plateau is growing and every Plateu person should be proud of men and women playing integral roles in that regard. In the grand scheme of making Plateau proud, some individuals have made themselves exceptional, one of which is Manji Wilson.
He has exemplified the Plateau spirit. Let me use this avenue to rate other plateau spirits like Kigai and many others.
Plateau state must grow to showcase the inherent talents in its fold. Others have showcased themselves but it’s the time of the Plateau people to show their Dominance.
We Plateau people Must grow and show ourselves that we’re good enough at the national level.
PS: With people like Manji Wilson and Kigai Zontong, MCIArb.et.al, the future of Plateau state is secured.

Empowering Indigenous communities for deep-time landscape management
Landscapes change continuously due to tectonic, climate, and ecosystem processes, and Indigenous peoples have deep landscape knowledge contained in traditions and language. Understanding how landscapes have changed in the past enables predictions of how they will change in future considering infrastructure developments, land use changes and climate change. Incorporating Indigenous knowledge in landscape assessments is now standard practice in Aotearoa New Zealand and is also a focus of landscape assessments in Australia. While community engagement is critical in such assessments, empowering Indigenous communities with modern mapping tools would enhance their abilities to engage with landscape planning processes, provide greater agency in managing traditional areas, help safeguard ownership of Indigenous information, and give effect to community development aspirations. This project embraces Indigenous approaches to space and time by empowering Indigenous communities for deep-time landscape management by developing a new way to include community knowledge in predicting future landscape changes. Outputs will enable Indigenous communities to interact with realistic visualisations, much like video games, to see how landscapes change under different scenarios that they choose. This project will enable sharing the best ways to interact with these communities, and to share the best approaches to depict how landscapes change using computer simulations.

Once upon a time, in the vast African wilderness, a group of ants embarked on a daring mission. These ants were known as "Swarm Raiders," fearless creatures that targeted insects and small animals much larger than themselves. Their latest conquest was a Giant Millipede, a formidable opponent hundreds of times their size.
The ants faced a twofold challenge. First, they needed to overcome their prey and subdue it. They employed a unique strategy known as the "Rodeo Style." Dozens of ants encircled the millipede without attacking, patiently waiting for the perfect moment. Then, one ant at a time would approach, delivering a swift bite before swiftly retreating. This relentless assault wore down the millipede, weakening its defenses.
But the challenge didn't end there. Carrying the millipede back to the colony seemed impossible for just a few ants. Undeterred, the resourceful insects devised a brilliant solution. They formed Daisy Chains, linking up with each other to create a unified force, exponentially increasing their pulling power. Together, they harnessed their collective strength, each ant pulling their weight and contributing to the successful transportation of their hard-won prize.
This story of the Swarm Raiders and their incredible teamwork reminds us of the power of unity and collaboration. Just like the ants, Africa has the potential to achieve great things by coming together. Through platforms like Gataama Group (www.gataama.com), we can connect, support, and empower one another. By pooling our resources, knowledge, and skills, we can overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and build a brighter future for Africa.
