On this Independence Day, as we reflect on our nation's journey to freedom, it is important to recognize that true independence transcends mere political autonomy. It comprises of freedom in every facet of our lives—religious, mental, physical, emotional, technological, and economic. You name it. Yet, as we celebrate, we cannot ignore the shadows that linger. The freedom we cherish is incomplete if our women are not safe, if fear still resides in our homes, streets, and neighborhoods. Independence must be holistic, ensuring that every individual, regardless of gender, can live without fear, pursue their dreams, and express themselves freely. During my initial years in India and as a proud British Indian today, I’ve always been in awe of the strong air of patriotism that intensifies as we approach the Indian Independence Day. It demonstrates the deep reverence and gratitude India holds for her hard-earned freedom.   Independence has given India stability and peace, allowing a diverse nation to grow together. It's given every Indian a say in the democracy and a chance at a fair shot in life.   It has brought different cultures together, teaching us tolerance and respect. It's been key to the growth of this nation and its citizens. On the world stage, it has earned India respect and stronger relationships with other countries. Over the last one year, we’ve seen some significant achievements, a few of which are: 💡 India has emerged as the fastest-growing economy globally, claiming the fifth position currently. 💡 India is the first country to reach moon's south pole. 💡 India has topped digital payments as per the recent data. The nation topped the list for digital payments and recorded 89.5 million transactions. 💡 India also had the fastest 5G roll-out in the world.   As we celebrate India’s 78th Independence Day, let's celebrate the progress we've made since gaining our freedom and look forward to the future we're building.
