Everyone needs something outside of their “normal” daily routine to find a spark of creativity and connect back to their passions. For me, it’s scuba diving! I've immersed myself in the wonders of the ocean ever since I was a child–as a swimmer, a surfer, and a sailor–but recently I found solace and inspiration beneath the waves. In those moments underwater, I’m fully present, mindfully embracing the beauty of nature and letting go of the day's stresses. As leaders, it’s easy to brush off the need for mental wellness, but it’s a crucial component of leadership that we must always be mindful of. Our teams look to us to lead by example, and we, too, need to keep in mind our own sense of wellness, not just during #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, but throughout the year. I challenge all of you to discover your own source of relaxation and commit to it. Whether it's scuba diving, hiking, painting, or any other activity, you'll see a positive change in your approach to work and life, and you'll find yourself with renewed energy, creativity, and passion for everything you do.
