By adding a LUVOBATCH® chemical blowing agent (CBA) during your injection molding or extrusion process, the reactive additives split off gases through a thermal decomposition reaction during the processing of the thermoplastics. This creates a stable bubble structure in the polymer matrix.  Similar to the process of physical foaming, in which gas is injected directly into the process, but without any additional machine settings or special screw designs. Solid State Polycondensation or SSP is an interesting and crucial process in the production of high-performance polymers. Polymers are of course used in a lot of different forms for several everyday items – right from kitchen applications and food, medical products, sporting materials and personal care products. Vacuum pumps and technology like our EXTRUVAC-Systems or our SCREWLINE, VARODRY and CLAWVAC pumps help to remove residual solvents, gases, monomers and other impurities from the polymer matrix of SSP processes.
