This week, our CEO, Lidia Faranda Hall, hit Canberra to shine a spotlight on the Resolute Ready Virtual Hub! Thank you to Former Governor-General David Hurley, Matt Burnell MP, and Ken Robinson OAM for their incredible support—it’s teamwork like this that drives change! We also had some special moments, including seeing an Aussie Hero Quilts - Jan Maree gifted to Matt Burnell MP and receiving a token of appreciation from Mr Matt Anderson from the Australian War Memorial. Our Resolute Ready researcher Alan O'Connor (Veteran) had the opportunity to share his service and life experience. Together, we’re building stronger, more connected communities. 💪🇦🇺 💪 #veterans #firstresponders #DefenceFamilies

Memorial Day is fast approaching but what IS Memorial Day exactly? Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2024 will occur on Monday, May 27. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. That is the "official" definition. To me Memorial Day is my great grandfather, my grandfather, my aunts and Uncles, my cousins, my neighbors across the street, my college buddies, my coworkers, and my friends. They all served. They all did something I wasn't prepared to do. They all had various reasons for doing so and those reason aren't important. They literally signed up to put themselves in harm's way with the clear understanding that they may have to lay down their lives in some far-off country. Why? Because at their very core they believed in what it is to be American. They knew that freedom, by any definition, is not a given and it certainly isn't free. So this weekend while you grill out or attend a concert or whatever, please if only for a moment remember what Memorial Day is really all about. Our Freedoms depend on it. #thankyou #memorialday #memorialdayweekend #usa #love #america #memorial #mdw #like #memories #military #veterans #summer #family #redwhiteandblue #remember #freedom #happymemorialday #neverforget #honor #army #friends #sale #marines #navy #airforce #america #remember

This is such great insight: “Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret.” Read on for the explanation ../
Not being a Green Beret is harder than being a Green Beret. Yes, I said that correctly. The biggest challenge I ever faced wasn’t donning the Green Beret…it was taking it off. Transition from the military is an unknown journey that tests even the greatest special operators in ways they never imagined as they’re forced to answer the question of what’s next. Green Beret Foundation has placed Veteran Service Officers in each active duty Special Forces Group to assist transitioning operators answer this question, navigate the disability benefits process and provide job placement services as they prepare for the next chapter in life. Medal of Honor Monday: Sergeant William H. Carney Sergeant William H. Carney, born into slavery in Norfolk, Virginia 1840, became one of the most remarkable figures in American military history. Escaping the bonds of slavery through the Underground Railroad, Carney later joined the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, one of the first Black regiments to fight in the Civil War. On July 18, 1863, during the assault on Fort Wagner in South Carolina, Carney's courage was unparalleled. As the color bearer carrying the American flag, he faced relentless enemy fire. Despite being wounded multiple times, Carney never let the flag touch the ground. He planted it on the fort's ramparts and, even as the battle raged on, carried it back to his regiment, ensuring it remained aloft. Carney's commitment to the flag and his fellow soldiers was extraordinary. His actions symbolized the fight for the Union and embodied the struggle for freedom and equality. Despite the grave personal risk, his bravery under fire is a testament to his steadfast dedication to his country and his belief in its ideals. Sergeant Carney was finally awarded the Medal of Honor in 1900, nearly 37 years after his heroic actions. The delay was due to the slow bureaucratic processes of the time, compounded by the racial prejudices that often overlooked the contributions of Black soldiers. Despite this delay, the recognition of Carney's bravery remains a significant and enduring legacy. #usarmy #usmarines #usmc #usairforce #airforce #usnavy #navy #uscg #coastguard #military #veterans #informationsecurity #cybersecurity #technology #future #careers #socialmedia #strategy #leadership #inspiration #success

Centrinex and Customer Care Global honor our fallen heroes and veterans on this Memorial Day - May 27, 2024 A Promise to the Fallen “Freedom is not free.” That’s a phrase we’ve all heard. But we don’t often consider who pays the cost of that freedom. Very few Americans swear an oath to defend our country. And of these patriots, only a small fraction lose their lives serving the nation. Every year, on Memorial Day, we do our best to honor the fallen. It’s a day of solemn remembrance. A day to acknowledge the opportunities we enjoy, thanks to the actions of these courageous individuals. On this day, we are reminded to “never forget.” But as time passes, many of their names and stories can be lost to history if we don’t work to keep them in our collective memory. So how do we “never forget”? How do we remember the willingness of these gallant souls to do what others would not? How do we truly honor them, not on a single day, but every day? The answer is to stand for America’s founding values. To strengthen our communities. To give back whenever we can. To make this the best nation on earth, not by what we say, but by what we do. This is a promise to the fallen—a vow to live our lives to the fullest and for each other. Because our days didn’t come without a cost, and we will never forget that you are the ones who paid the price. On this day, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy. First responders, medical personnel, and countless volunteers served courageously, offering their all to help families and communities in need. As a USAF veteran, I’ve come to reflect on what it truly means to serve. When we sign up to join the military, I don’t know if we fully understand the weight of giving ourselves for others. But when the moment comes—when faced with the decision to defend our country, fight for freedom, and even face the possibility of war—so many do not flinch. They serve with honor, and some pay the ultimate price so that others can live their lives in peace. This spirit of selflessness and sacrifice is something I carry with me, not only from my military service but also in everyday life. Whether on the battlefield or in the challenges we face daily, standing for what you believe in and knowing your value is a form of strength that can inspire and uplift those around us. Today, we honor those who gave their lives on 9/11 and those who continue to serve. Let’s never forget their sacrifice and strive to support one another in their memory. #NeverForget #911Heroes #EqualPayEqualSay #VeteranStrong #ServiceAndSacrifice #Resilience #Leadership #HonoringTheFallen #MilitaryService #NeverForget #911Heroes #EqualPayEqualSay #VeteranStrong #ServiceAndSacrifice #Resilience #Leadership #HonoringTheFallen #MilitaryService
