Rules I aspire to live by; 1. Perspective vs. perception - Perception is how we receive what happens to us- often leading to negative emotions - Perceptive is how we interpret why it is happening to us- more often leads to compassion and understanding. 2. Build your eulogy rather than your reputation - building your eulogy means being a person that positively impacts others- generally more selfless. Building others up to build yourself. - building your reputation can be both negative and positive but is generally a more selfish pursuit to get what you want out of the world. However building a great eulogy creates a great reputation. 3. Do unto others.... 4. Be better than you were yesterday.

🚦 Why Do We Let Others Control Our Actions? 🚦 The truth is that you are in control of your thoughts, your words, and your actions. But too often, we hand over that control—letting fear, judgment, or others’ opinions dictate our lives. Here’s what I’ve learned from my journey of overcoming five life-changing adversities (and what I share in my book, Flourishing After Adversity): 1️⃣ Your thoughts shape your reality. When negativity creeps in, remind yourself: What can I do right now? Then take one small step forward. 2️⃣ Your words create your environment. Speak encouragement over yourself and others. Your words can inspire hope or fuel doubt—choose wisely. 3️⃣ Your actions are your power. Even baby steps build momentum. Show up, even when it’s hard. Consistency leads to transformation. When you focus on what’s in your control, you reclaim your power. 💪 In the iCope2Hope Resilience Framework, I teach how to stop the cycle of overthinking and take intentional steps toward joy and purpose. 🌱 What’s one way you’ll focus on what you CAN control this week? Drop your thoughts below—I’d love to hear! ⬇️

🌉 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬? When a Silverback Gorilla approaches, the best thing you can do is sit down and show submission? In their natural habitat, these majestic creatures demand respect and not through aggression, but through presence. It’s a powerful reminder for life that 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦, 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮. We all face our own “Silverback moments”challenges so big they seem impossible to overcome. But sometimes, the best response is stillness, humility, and trust in your resilience. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦? Share your story in the comments, I’d love to hear it.

Words have the power to humiliate or heal. They can shape our reality and create our desired outcomes. We give meaning to every experience we have through our words. Being stuck in traffic can be unbearably frustrating and exhausting or it could be exactly the excuse you needed to slow down and take a beat. We control the narrative. What we talk about comes about. I am determined to use my words to design a life that I love. What are some situations that you can reframe and relabel for your greater good?

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 📝 Your Personal Story Everyone has a story about their lives. Humans are storytelling creatures. But have you ever observed your own story? 🤔 The String of Thoughts Thoughts exist in a string of thoughts that bring about meaning. This meaning is oftentimes given to us by others. Rarely do we consciously create our own meaning around events in our life. Most often, this process is even unconscious. 📖 Reflect on Your Story So what is your story? What are your struggles? What are the excuses? Who is the enemy? What is to blame? Why are you the way you are? Start journaling on these questions and you’ll be surprised at how you are feeding your own ego, many times even to your detriment. 🪞 The Ego Latches Onto These Stories A story is only perpetuated because it serves your ego somehow. So the last question you should answer is: “How is this old story serving me?”. Only then will you be able to dissolve your illusions with the light of your awareness.

My thoughts for this week... Finding your True North ⬆ Your True North, is your inner sense, your internal moral compass, unique to you, representing who you are at your core. Ask yourself: - What makes me genuinely happy? - Who do I value most? - What's my purpose? - What are my values & beliefs? *Review your life. *Make a list. *Be honest with yourself. *Reflect on where you excel and where you need to develop. *Ask for help. *Take action daily - big or small. The above is no easy task and while you can control your actions, you can't control the external consequences to those actions, but when you find your True North, you discover your authentic self. It keeps you on a straight road that's true for you. #TrueNorth #Motivation
