FSVC recently conducted a training on financial auditing standards for auditors from the Angolan Supreme Audit Institution, officers from Ministry of Finance and prosecutors. Led by FSVC experts Bornwell Mpofu and Brighton Mpatisha, the training provided an overview of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions’ Framework of Professional Pronouncements and the fundamental principles of public sector auditing. Subsequent sessions focused on audit planning, pre-engagement communication and understanding internal controls within audited entities. As a result of this training, participants gained a better understanding of financial auditing standards, were exposed to successful regional case studies and enhanced their knowledge in audit planning and risk assessment. These advancements are pivotal in reducing the likelihood of undetected suspicious activities and promoting transparency and accountability within government institutions. Thanks to funding from USAID, FSVC looks forward to continuing this crucial work in Angola. #FSVC #Angola #economicdevelopment #internationaldevelopment #SupremeAuditInstitution #MinistryofFinance #prosecutors #audit #auditplanning #publicsector #riskassessment #USAID

The New Standards combine the five mandatory components of 2017 IPPF (Mission of Internal Audit, Definition of Internal Auditing, Core Principles for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, Code of Ethics, and Standards). The 2017 IPPF was considered fragmented and duplicative while the new Standards is a more unified document.
