I’m excited to share my latest publication: "Shifting the Shame: How A Preventing Violent Extremism Approach Addresses the Invisibility of Gender-Based Violence." This piece presents a new framework for understanding whenand why S/GBV becomes visible and recommends shifting the narrative to empower survivors, such as Gisèle Pelicot. Her powerful story highlights this shift, underscoring the urgent need to break the silence challenge existing norms, create counter-narratives, and empower individuals and communities to make SGBV visible and prevent its occurrence. Join me and use hashtag **#ShiftTheShame** to raise awareness, support survivors, and demand accountability. Many thanks to International Affairs Forum for publishing the piece, and to Peninah Kimíri and Natalia Voutova for their insightful peer reviews. https://lnkd.in/gg7NW2b6 #PVEWorks #Gender #PVE #CounterTerrorism #ShiftTheShame

This is a pathbreaking analysis of a topical and complex issue The empirical references to the shifts firom invisible to visible GBV and the explicit challenges to existing norms are truly captured by # shift the shame It presents the impetus for further debate and deserves high acclaim
