🚀 Exciting Times Ahead at Green Machine Computers! 🚀 We're thrilled to share our vision for the future. At Green Machine Computers, we aspire to revolutionise the way the UK deals with its E-waste. We believe no electronic devices should end up in a landfill. Electronic waste, or WEEE, describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. This refers to anything with a plug, battery or circuit board that is of no further use to individuals or businesses. Our IT support technicians stated that "Green Machine Computers are quickly and steadily enhancing the way in which many businesses within the UK tackle E-waste, amplifying their businesses' ESG and CSR". They suggest that Green Machine are on a good course to make a serious difference in the sustainability of companies within the next couple of years. This vision is the driving force behind everything we do. As we move forward, we remain focused on minimising the amount of unwanted tech ending up in landfill sites and aim to maximise the amount of tech that can be recycled and reused. #VisionMissionValues #Innovation #Sustainability #FutureFocused

Our Director of Sustainability and Client Engagement, Stephen Haskew, recently highlighted a concerning trend in his recent article: Brits are set to become the biggest contributors to electronic waste this year, but why? While our drive to have the latest #technology is natural, we need to consider what happens to old devices when we upgrade. Here's a quick look at some key points: ▪ Our insatiable appetite for the latest technology creates a growing mountain of #ewaste. ▪ Lack of awareness around proper disposal methods is a major hurdle. ▪ The #UK lags in e-waste recycling compared to other nations. ▪ #Remanufacturing offers a #sustainable alternative to buying new devices. The full article dives into the reasons behind this troubling trend and explores potential solutions we can all embrace to curb e-waste and transition to a more #circulareconomy. https://lnkd.in/eu_ZeMYc Betanews, Inc. #sustainability #electronics #corporateresponsibility

Unlock innovations for sustainable critical material recovery from electronic scrap by joining the $4M Electronics Scrap Recycling Advancement Prize (E-SCRAP), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) American-Made Program! 🌱💡 E-scrap—such as mobile phones, home appliances, medical or office equipment, and anything else powered by electricity—represents the fastest growing waste stream. Only 17.4% of e-scrap was collected and recycled in 2019, leaving $57B in raw material value discarded. However, e-scrap recovery faces numerous roadblocks, including a fragmented recycling value chain, a complex and dynamic feedstock, and a rapidly evolving end-use market. 🧠🌍 Bring your innovative ideas to join the E-SCRAP competition and identify opportunities that optimize material separation technologies, enhance recovery of critical materials, or stimulate circular supply chains to enhance the domestic production and utilization of vital critical materials from e-scrap. When you purchase a used scale from UniFide CST, you’re not just making the more economical choice. You’re also making a more environmentally sustainable choice. Waste is reduced by extending the life of existing scales through repair and refurbishment instead of discarding them. Not only does this help reduce waste in the scale industry, but it can also help your business further its own sustainability goals. And, when the time comes, UniFide CST can also help you find the right solution for your new equipment needs. https://hubs.ly/Q02GrySJ0 #scale #scales #weightscales #electronicweighingscale #industrialscales #truckscales #manufacturing #weighing #loadcell #digitalscales #sensors

How can we make power electronics good for people and the planet? I’ve been thinking about the R’s of circularity and put some thoughts together for you to check out. It’s a tricky subject and one of the cornerstones seems to be the ability to remove components and raw materials from circuit boards at end of life. Otherwise we’re stuck in a linear cycle; repair and re-use only extends the inevitable! That said, there’s so much low hanging fruit when it comes to re-use, repair and recycle in power electronics. As always, I come back to the power electronics industry needing to catch up in with pioneers in sustainable electronics such as Fairphone! 🔔 Follow me for more insights on sustainability and the future of tech! 💬 Comment to share what this post made you think more about… #SustainableTech #PowerElectronics #FairflowEnergy FairFlow Energy
