Happy #EarthDay! 🌎 Did you know that the fashion industry alone is responsible for 8-10% of global carbon emissions and a staggering 20% of wastewater? From greenhouse gas emissions to waste generation, water pollution, and the proliferation of microplastics, the impacts on our beloved Earth are far-reaching. But here's the inspiring part: together, we're making a difference. Through collective action, we're redefining our relationship with fashion to protect our planet. Many innovators are introducing trailblazing technologies in raw materials, processing, retail, and various areas within the fashion industry. Thanks to the growing demand from conscious consumers who prioritise the health of our planet, these cutting-edge technologies are being implemented and scaled throughout the industry with the support of investors and initiatives by forward-thinking brands. While dedicating a day to celebrate our beautiful planet is important, let's remember that one day a year is not enough to honour and protect Earth. Every day should be Earth Day, as we relentlessly work towards the same goal — reducing the environmental impact of fashion and sustaining the beauty of our planet for generations to come. Fashion for Good is walking hand in hand with the global community of innovators, investors, and key stakeholders. Together, we're dedicated to transforming the industry and shaping a sustainable future through textile innovations. #SustainableFashion #EarthDay #everydayisearthday #consiousfashion #goodfashion #circularfashion

I've been thinking more and more of late about how to incorporate #sustainability into my decision-making when it comes to buying clothes, and I've found Good On You to be a great resource. You can read their recap of some positive sustainability developments stemming from Fashion Month below 👇
And, just like that, fashion month is drawing to a close 🗓️ We started in New York, hopping to London, stopping in Milan, before finishing in Paris—and the Good On You team kept tabs on what was happening on and off the runway, to share highlights related to more sustainable practices and rethinking of what this moment can be 💚 From Copenhagen Fashion Week including sustainability standards to Vestiaire Collective making a television cameo, brands and businesses are listening and making an effort to change. This represents progress and, while the industry has a long way to go, we wanted to celebrate these wins 🎉 So much of the harm that fashion causes can be undone by making an effort. Good On You can help, with tools that allow big and small, luxury and mass market, national and international brands make change. Learn more here → https://lnkd.in/eKbg9rSA

Are we done talking about Mary's Boots yet? There were some folks arguing in my comments on another app but I stand firm on my opinion and I am about to get back to some other topics. I didn't post a lot about the Met Gala this year but I did watch the live stream on the clock app. As usual there was some outfits that were works of art and others looked like they missed the theme. A word I did kept hearing throughout the night is one that we thought may have been a buzzword in the past but looks like this is now embedded in our everyday. Sustainability. Stella McCartney stood out especially as she highlighted her looks for the night and how all of the diamonds were sustainably sourced. Two weeks ago my company hosted a 2 hour session for the whole company ( employees across 27 countries) to make sure we all knew the focus being put on making sure our suppliers are implementing sustainable practices. Even in supply chain this topic has been added. Question for my business owners? Is this something you are implementing and sharing with your clients and customers? #sustainability #supplychain
