📍What our team has learned after 2 successful events in our gallery space. We're buzzing after hosting two incredibly successful events in our 19th Street Gallery space, but beyond the excitement, these events sparked some valuable learnings we wanted to share. Here are a few takeaways for fellow event organizers: 📍The Power of Community: Building a strong community around your events is key. Engage with artists, sponsors, and attendees to create a truly collaborative experience. This fosters excitement and a sense of belonging. 📍Content is King (and Queen): Curate unique and engaging content for your events. Whether it's thought-provoking panel discussions, live performances, or interactive installations, go beyond the expected and leave a lasting impression. 📍Embrace the Unexpected: Things don't always go exactly as planned, but that's okay! Be flexible, adaptable, and roll with the punches. Sometimes, the unexpected moments become the most memorable. 📍The Value of Feedback: Gather feedback from attendees after your event. This helps you understand what worked, what didn't, and how you can improve future experiences. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in these events! Your energy and enthusiasm made them truly special. Turning your shows into events can elevate your performances and deepen your connection with your audiences! Here’s why: * It creates a memorable experience-something people are more likely to talk about, share, and come back for * It builds community-theme nights, having a cause, and hosting special activities creates an environment where people can connect and feel part of something bigger. Putting an emphasis on photo-ops, decor, and interactive elements encourages people to share more online, feeding organic buzz * It can help increase attendance, revenue, and attention-when your shows are perceived as unique events, people are more likely to pay more, attend early, and invite their friends. It also opens the door for more media, partnership, sponsorship interest, which only further elevates your shows * It broadens your appeal-special events, collabs with other artists and businesses-these elements can bring in more casual showgoers who otherwise aren’t as actively attending local shows * It makes you stand out-with so many artists competing for attention, developing a unique event series can help establish your brand and support Make your next show a night people won’t forget-you’ll be surprised how much it can contribute to growing your fanbase, brand, and community!

OMR 2024: Was it »worth it« as a Founder? 🧐 OMR is over and once again they managed to turn Hamburg upside down for two consecutive days. But there has probably never been a year where opinions have been so mixed about whether attending the event is worth it or not. As a founder you have to carefully think about how to spend your time, and sometimes it’s worth it to invest time in things that don’t have an immediate tangible business effect. For me, the event is all about personal interactions. ✅ Seeing as many business partners as possible. ✅ Connecting with new people. ✅ Having a good time with friends. OMR had all of the above, so it was definitely worth attending for me. Another fun thing this year has been the side-events. There were a lot of pre-event activities, after-shows and community meetings which gave all of us more chances to connect. It was great having exciting conversations and meeting new people. Impressive what the OMR team put together once again! 💥 Have you been to OMR? What was your highlight?

The event world is changing. It's high tech, super creative and the bar has risen for the most part. For me, it's about those perfect details. The stuff that makes your clients go, "Wow, they really nailed it." It's about that "above and beyond" mentality, that extra bit of effort that makes all the difference. My team gets that. We thrive on those moments. We're not afraid to roll up our sleeves, to go the extra mile. Let’s pick up the phone for real connection instead of hiding behind an email or app. Don't get me wrong, tech has its place. But let's not forget the power of a solid handshake, a genuine smile, and knowing you've got someone who's 100% in your corner. As we grow, we intend to keep that focus, that commitment to quality, and that personal touch that sets us apart. Because let's face it, an algorithm won't knock your socks off, but a team that cares deeply? Now that's a game-changer. That's how we do events. That's how we raise the bar.

A quiet revolution is happening in the event industry. It’s small but mighty. Communities are self-organizing. This trend can turn awry. I just heard of a large show that lost one of its most prominent exhibitors. Instead of spending 90K on a booth, they rented out an amazing venue and invited many attendees and clients to their activation. Undivided attention. There is also good news. Spontaneous communities are popping up. Breaking free from the transactional script of many events creates opportunities for genuine human connection. Look at us, we are in Barcelona. There are no pitches involved. Great humans with a shared passion, spending time together. I feel lucky. This LinkedIn community, the newsletter, and Boldpush+ subscribers are becoming a close group of people who want to change the event industry. I am starting to think we can actually make it. In 2025, I plan for more in-person gatherings like what you see in the picture. My mission is to build the next generation of event strategists. Data-driven, content savvy, and human-first. Great insights here on prioritizing impact over sheer attendance numbers at events. While I completely agree with the idea of curating smaller, more meaningful gatherings that create genuine value, we can’t ignore that a full room still leaves a lasting impression (especially for the stakeholders “commissioning” the event 😅) The key is finding the right balance: • Relevance matters, so trimming the fat and focusing on quality is essential. A smaller, engaged audience can generate stronger outcomes. • But, attendance metrics still hold weight. A packed venue creates a sense of excitement and success that resonates with stakeholders. In my opinion, what really makes the difference is: 1. Targeting the right audience. A curated and frequently updated invitee list is critical. And 2. We shouldn’t assume we always know what our audience wants—seeking their input can help tailor the experience to their needs. In the end, it’s all about managing expectations and showing real value—whether that’s through great engagement, building strong connections, or driving results. But let’s be honest, nothing beats the energy and buzz of a packed room. 💥 #eventmanagement #eventstrategy #businessimpact #eventplanning
I’ve seen so many events burnt by their obsession over attendance numbers. Hear me out: Sure. Filling those seats matters. But business events are about doing business. They are not concerts. Impact is what matters for business events, not chasing growth at all costs. Many events are better off just trimming the fat. In practice: Reduce the size and increase relevance. Do not market to irrelevant personals. Help sponsors meet the right people. Avoid spreading too thin. Strive for 70 NPS, over a sell out. The market is rewarding intimate events over medium-sized experiences. Embrace them. The impact is 10x. P.S. On Wednesday, I’ll share a full framework for rethinking your event ROI. In my free newsletter. The link is at the top of my profile.
