It's been a while since I've been able to get my boots on the ground and involved in a community but here we are in Woking. A town of 67 homes. (Yep, SIXTY SEVEN) bringing them a world class fiber optic infrastructure. The overwhelming amount of support from such a tight-knit collective reminds me why this is one of my favorite parts of my work. There really is nothing like connecting with folks affected by the digital divide and getting to bring them some closure. #fiberinternet #digitaldivide #salesandmarketing

Connecting Western Pennsylvania: WPA Fiber Network and REMCs Bridge the Digital Divide Access to high-speed internet is essential, yet many rural areas in Western Pennsylvania remain underserved. WPA Fiber Network is bridging this #DigitalDivide by partnering with #REMCs to extend #BroadbandAccess across the region. By building a reliable #FiberOpticNetwork, we want to empower local REMCs to deliver connectivity to remote communities, supporting homes, schools, and hospitals in accessing the resources they need. Despite challenges like complex terrain and regulatory requirements, WPA Fiber Network is working to support REMC partners that are dedicated to creating a digitally inclusive future for #WesternPennsylvania. Together, we’re making #ConnectivityForAll a reality and providing every community the opportunity to thrive with reliable, #HighSpeedInternet. #CommunityImpact #RuralBroadband

Continuing my theme this week about how bringing high-speed internet to unserved communities changes lives, Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Tribal Broadband Leader, Robert Alva Griffin, offers a powerful reminder of the stark divide facing many tribal communities. While government initiatives have made strides, vast swathes of the reservation remain unconnected - a situation Robert describes as having areas with "no internet connection whatsoever." This lack of access isn't just an inconvenience; it's a barrier to education, economic growth, and the preservation of a rich cultural heritage. The Choctaw Nation's ambitious goal of achieving 80% high-speed broadband coverage by 2027 is nothing short of audacious, but it's a necessity. They face unique challenges – vast and rugged terrain, dispersed population, and limited resources. Yet, their commitment to a fiber-based network, reaching even the most remote corners of their lands, is truly inspiring. It's about more than just faster downloads; it's about connecting a community, empowering its people, and preserving a legacy. At Sonar Software, we believe broadband access is a fundamental right. We're committed to partnering with tribal communities like the Choctaw Nation and the National Tribal Telecommunications Association to bridge this gap and ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the digital age. Robert's story, and the determination of the Choctaw people, reminds us that connectivity is about more than just technology. It's about empowering communities, preserving cultures, and building a brighter future for all. #NationalTribalTelecommunicationsAssociation #DigitalDivide #Broadband

Travelling up to Doomadgee tomorrow with some of my team. It's one of Queensland's 16 discrete First Nations communities. Looking forward to meeting with community leaders, council, elders and community members to better understand first hand the current state of digital and possible opportunities ahead. Like many of our First Nations communities, Doomadgee is very susceptible to poor telecommunications service and frequent outages. Earlier this year Doomadgee was without any mobile phone coverage for 10 days. You can read more about Doomadgee here: https://lnkd.in/gV5ZNStv #digitaleconomy #digitaleconomy #digitalinclusion
