Last week I had the privilege of attending and speaking at the USCG Sector Delaware Bay SPV Industry Night on the upcoming regulatory changes around Safety Management System (SMS) and the Streamlined Inspection Program (SIP). Recent events in the marine industry have triggered the Fire Safety IFR and this is accelerating the movement towards the requirement of SMS for SPV and PVs. Bringing a digital solution to the marine industry that supports the SMS/SIP is my top priority. I want to concentrate on what’s happening now and how we can prevent things from happening in the future, whether it’s a minor boating violation or something major safety-wise.
