The circular economy and sustainability movement in commercial real estate is gaining the right momentum, and we are pleased that few. takes its small part at the forefront of this revolution.

Our collaborative RE-INCITE project, led by Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH, has been selected as one of the 6 small-scale projects from 39 applicants to receive funding under the Interreg Alpine Space program! The project focuses on transforming industrial waste into valuable secondary materials, helping reduce CO₂ emissions and decrease dependence on raw resources. We are doing so by empowering clusters to support municipalities in creating and implementing circular economy (CE) value chains across the Alpine region, alongside our project partners COMET – Cluster della Metalmeccanica del FVG, Business Upper Austria - OÖ. Wirtschaftsagentur GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH, and Wirtschaftsförderung Raum Heilbronn GmbH. From over 150 cities across 46 countries, York stands out for its commitment to integrating sustainable mobility solutions that respect its medieval character while enhancing urban living. Through collaborative stakeholder consultations, we tailored an application that not only tackled York's unique challenges but also aimed at improving overall citizen well-being and reducing environmental impacts from transportation. This recognition is a testament to the potential of ancient cities to lead in sustainability without compromising their historical essence. York is now poised to host transformative challenges, with potential funding of up to $3 million for innovators and a $100,000 stipend to further develop their capacity. The public procurement model doesn’t work anymore for services such as shared mobility. It’s designed to create frustration 😖 on both sides. Service providers have to over-promise to win, then can only underdeliver. Shared micromobility 🚴♂️🛴services align with the SDGs and objectives defined in cities‘ sustainable urban mobility plans. 💚 Day 3 at the Green Business Challenge unfolded at Groningen Airport Eelde | NXT Airport, offering a dynamic mix of learning and hands-on exploration thanks to Helen Smit, Jeroen Kamphuis and Jonas van Dorp. 🏁 We kicked off with energizing stand-ups and a deep dive into the GBC model, setting the stage for impactful work. 🍴 Following a delicious lunch at Bites & Flights, our team embarked on a guided tour of the airport. It was a fascinating opportunity to gain insights. 💡In the afternoon, Harald Zegeren MBA led an engaging workshop on how subjects reinforce each other, different perspectives and grid congestion. The session provided valuable insights for our teams as they tackle their challenges. ⏰ As the day closed at TechHub Assen, fueled by pizza and determination, our teams dived deeper into their cases.
