Trade shows in the Digital Economy In today's world, trade shows have become an essential part of any industry. They are an excellent platform for retailers and suppliers to connect with each other, promote their goods and services, and keep up with the latest trends and technologies. However, trade shows, as we currently think of them, are limited to a specific time of the year, which means that retailers and suppliers have to wait for months to meet and interact with each other. Online platforms that allow retailers and suppliers to connect with each other and promote their goods and services throughout the year are akin to 24/7 trade shows. There are many of these around for many industries and sectors. The platforms feature an online marketplace, where retailers can browse through suppliers' products and services and place orders directly on the platform. These platforms have in effect created trade shows that run 24/7. In addition to the online marketplace, the 24/7 trade show would also feature an online and offline meeting platform. Retailers and suppliers can schedule online meetings with each other at any time, allowing them to connect with each other and discuss business opportunities, new products, and services, and any other issues they might have. The platform would also organize offline meetings throughout the year, giving retailers and suppliers the opportunity to meet face-to-face.
